This epic roadtrip is very intriguing, though a little mysterious. Are you going in an RV, like in the pictures on the web site? Is it some kind of reality TV show? It looks like some kind of MTV production. Does the RV come with a harem of nubile babes? If so--well done!
Internet access is actually easy to get while on roadtrips. Just drive into a residential neighborhood and turn on your computer--chances are like 80% that there will be an open wireless network right there. If not, you have to conduct this slightly shady-looking operation of driving around with your laptop watching the signal strengths until you find a good one.
Where are you staying? In your RV in the company of Several Delicious Nubile Babes (DNB's)? Sleeping on park benches? In the absense of an RV filled with DNB's, I highly recommend Couchsurfing (the web site).
Do you have a planned route? The best thing to do in order to see interesting stuff is to avoid interstate highways where possible. You can't go nearly as far, but it's usually a lot more interesting. Or just be sure to get off the interstate whenever you get the bug to go see something "authentic." The only thing you see from the interstates are clusters of the usual freewayside chains... chain fast food, chain motels, etc. The major cross-country routes (I-10, I-40, etc) are particularly bad in this respect.
