Friendzy!

I thought I'd do something the lovely [livejournal.com profile] boxsofrain did a bit ago, and declare a Friendzy (Friending frenzy!). Actually I'm not sure she intended for it to work out quite like this but it did: (1) answer the following questions in a comment; (2) As Boxes says, "Also to make this more fun, feel free to read other peoples comments and reply to them with something nice about them. ... Make friends, add each other, mingle, just please be nice." (3) extra points if you mention the Friendzy in your own LJ and send people over to the party! (=

It's good! Nice to actually have an autumn, which was sadly lacking in the SF area where I grew up, surrounded by evergreens.

I'd call mine, but I think today is the day he goes bobbing for buttplugs...

I love teasing you! It's listed here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1820 you have three guesses - get it right and I'll send you a prize! Seriously

Oh, he's a big fan of falling on sword games, too...but typically not his own.

Honestly, I'm just happy I remembered that was your post. I'd say it was just because you're a photogenic female...but, really, I don't even remember who writes what among that group.

[identity profile] gratefuladdict.livejournal.com 2008-12-03 11:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Ha. I think most people will remember that was MY post for a long, long time, unfortunately.

regretably no

hmmmmmm considering the comments preceding this one I'm highly curious what this post of yours you're referring to is about.. o_O

Bravo! Don't worry I won't get all preachy - I'm very live and let live

so what type of british confectionary would you like?

[identity profile] superhappytime.livejournal.com 2008-12-03 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
yeah, I keep waiting to see if you top the 8000 comments you got. I'm not sure there is any way you can do it. It's a delicate balance to upset people in a way that they feel the need to spout off, as opposed to just write you off as a crazy. That onfire4thelord dude wrote something about being gay means you're going to hell once and it mostly went ignored.

Oh I just looked at a map and your pretty much the same latitude as Davis where I went to college (but probably higher altitude and/or different climate due to closer proximity to the coast). I've been to Lake Berryessa a few times, does it look like Lake Berryessa around you?

Hahaha yes, which I also wear whenever the temperature warrants it (ie I practically lived in it in Winter in Davis). Sometimes I really do feel like I'm TOO stereotypically Irish and I really don't try to be!!!! d=

Re: Pet Names

[identity profile] emo-snal.livejournal.com 2008-12-03 11:22 pm (UTC)(link)
It would be particularly funny naming a pet that, since the pet would presumably not be a kestrel. Kind of like naming a chicken "cat" or something, only more obscure.

I don't know if you have them in England but in Ireland there were these things called Cornish Pasties I loved and miss terribly )=

Re: 1820

[identity profile] britishcowgirl.livejournal.com 2008-12-03 11:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah they originated in cornwall, they're like our ramen - I can send a quazi longer life one but I'm not sure how "fresh" it will be by the time it arrives. It's easy to make - boil some carrots, potatoes, parsnips until tender, brown some ground beef and mix with enough gravy to just become coated. Add black pepper and a few herbs (sage or thyme works well) and fold into a circle cut out of puff pastry. Bake for around 15-20 mins at 400f until golden brown - I don't mind sending one I'm just afraid outside of refrigeration it may suck for lack of a better word. Would you like something else instead or stick to the pasty? Oh and can you message me an address to send this to as I'm off to the post office tomorrow.

I stopped commenting back around the time it topped 100 comments, but it really did max out closer to 1,200, for what it's worth. And there were at least two commenters in there rabidly arguing back and forth against several others, so that probably accounted for a good chunk of the total volume.

I suppose I just managed to piss off a whole bunch of groups, instead of just targeting one or two.

Mental note with star: enter the competition under a different journal next year.

You mean you missed my infamous Week 2 post? No wonder you don't hate me.

Both my grandfathers were full-blooded Irish. No dearth of beer or corned beef at our family gatherings...

Of course. That's only after they get tired of cognac, of course.

[identity profile] superhappytime.livejournal.com 2008-12-04 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
are you kidding...some of these people take their time on LJ and in Idol seriously...they'd track your IP and out your real identity by the third week. Possibly while calling you a coward and saying you were trying to hide something by using a fake journal, and then bringing up your past entry. A better solution is to go the opposite way and just offend more people. Some topics to consider:

Why I Hate Muslims (not the radical ones, just the ordinary kind)

Do All Female Politicians Have To Look Frumpy?

Homeless People Belong in Jail

Week 2

[identity profile] emo-snal.livejournal.com 2008-12-04 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
I'm seeing a post titled Week 1 and a post titled Week 3 ... did you delete it or am I just not seeing it? /=

[identity profile] gratefuladdict.livejournal.com 2008-12-04 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
I was thinking more along the lines of:

The First Time I Decapitated a Puppy

Hey, Fattie - You're a Lazy, Worthless Human Being

Or I could just write a new sexist joke each week and work in the phrasing of the topic.
