I find all your bee work fascinating. it's scary how the bees are dying because of the pesticide use, particularly here in the USA. We are such fools.
I, personally, use no pesticides except wasp spray - and only in an emergency. (As in there are wasps near my door or my car and I'm going to get my ass stung if I don't get rid of them.)
We have lots of geckos and chameleons, and they take care of the vast majority of the bugs. Also, spiders eat lots of them, so I let the spiders live under the bookcases and around the ceilings to handle the rest.
