Day 5

From Louisiana, through Mississippi, into Alabama. Realized we were passing the very corner of the Florida Panhandle so we took some rural road just barely into Florida. Onward into Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia (which was totally fucking swarming with cops. We passed three people pulled over in the first half mile. 27 cops on the road by the time we were out of Virginia -- which is a hell of a lot when you consider even in the biggest states we only saw like three), and into Washington DC.

All the plates in DC say "Taxation without Representation." LOL.

Met up with some friends in DC and drank until I blacked out. Woke up the next morning in a dorm at Georgetown Law.

Are you going to stay in DC for a while? If you need a very reasonable and nice place to stay, have you thought of a hostel?

I had to go on business for a week in May and I stayed at the Takoma House Hostel in Takoma..a suburb of DC. It was close to the train, shoppes and busses. I also met some very nice people, some who are now on my LJ friends list.

Virginia does seem to have many coppers. There is a highway that runs from Florida up the coast, around about and ends up in New York. Many drugs get a ride up that highway so the highway patrol stop many out of state vehicles. I know this since my daughter goes to Uni in the Carolinas.

Hope your trip continues to be interesting and eventful. Nice photo!
