Prepare to Abandon Ship

   With the fullest gravity of seriousness I hereby declare that I need a new computer. This laptop, going on its fourth year, and having crashed completely with complete loss of memory twice is becoming terminally slow and error-ridden. Programs of every type have inexplicably failed to function recently only to work again sometimes later for no apparent reason -- and then today I tried to open an excel document which I had created on this computer and it told be the document was irreperably corrupted. A few hours later it inexplicably worked again. Tomorrow I'm going to buy some blank CDs and start evacuating my materials from this computer.
