I stopped by the third floor yesterday. The panic induced by the latest scandal was more severe than I'd expected. Motivated variously by terror that it might be their friends, or excitement at the mystery of it, everyone was fervently engaged in trying to guess who the three ineligible senators-elect are. I narrowly managed to avoid finding out who they are (on purpose), but I've heard the crimes they've been accused of and man, you have no idea. Anyway, here are the latest developments on the wiki.

Its that time of the quarter now when we get to evaluate all our teachers. This is one of my favourite things, but unfortunately it always occurs at the time one is least likely to make it to class -- the first half of the last week of the quarter. The last half is when all the papers are due, or have been due already, so one can usually make the last day, but the first half is the point in the quarter where one is most likely to be struggling to finish the several papers due that last week.
Anyway, I'm very enthusiastic about the process. This quarter on an evaluation I gave one of my teachers thorough instructions on how to tell better jokes: that he shouldn't expectantly pause for laughter every time he thinks he says something funny, because the numerous times he utterly fails this just makes it awkward. Rather he should try to deadpan things as if they're not even jokes, that way he can play it off if it wasn't funny and if it was it'll be even funnier.
On a rating of A-E, "A" being best, a gave a different teacher an E-. Then I gave the evaluation itself for the University Writing Programme an E, since for some reason we needed to indicate or answers on two sheets and they had some errors on it as well.
