Ozma Rocks the Casbah
Feb. 10th, 2003 09:11 am` So yesterday was the Ozma show. It was rawsome. Oh where to start.. it was the greatest. I wish I'd brought my camera there.
` Alright so the show was in the Coffee House again. For free. Maximum occupancy was rated at like half of actual maximum occupancy for some reason so hella people were stuck outside. More on that later.
` Before the show Ozma, Locale AM and two or three of us Entertainment Council people went to Plutos to eat. Standing in line I run into Tracy and Tracy's Friend. Tracy is all like "hey kris who are you here with?" and I'm like "Ozma and Locale AM" and her friends jaw drops like "what??" Pat from Ozma then turns around and says "The funny looking one's are locale AM." A minute later Tracy's Friend is on his cell phone like "omg omg I have to call someone!" silly kids.
` So yea, hella people were locked out of the show. Running into a friend inside was all like "omg you made it!" and it was a big accomplishment. I could go in and out as I pleased though, so it was kinda weird like that.
` Of course everyone and their mother wanted me to sneak them in. Psha on that. I snuck Amy in in the begining, after ditching some people that wanted to ride in on our coat-tails (sorry Jerome, but five of us through the kitchen was not gonna fly like just Amy and I. You got in youself though no?). I hung out with Amy most of the time. Eventually it came to my attention that Dina was locked out as well, so I went on a mission to get her in. After unsuccessfully sneaking through all the underground passages we could find, a friend let us into the CoHo after we'd given up. My last adventure with breaking people in was an attempt to get Don and Vanessa in. In this case I was unsuccessful at seperating them from like eight of their cohorts.. so it was the most massive infiltration of the CoHo ever. We went in through the loading dock, Nick holding the door, into the kitchen. From there I dispersed our refugees into the interior where the show was in groups of two or three. FinallyNick and I were the last to go in. As we approached the door the CoHo supervisor came in saying "Is there an unlocked door in here? People are coming in some how.." we of course shrugged obliviously. Leaving the kitchen we found most of our refugees already back OUTSIDE the CoHo. Apparently two of the groups had somehow managed to conglomorate, and the group of five was immediately set upon by security. Foolish kids.
` But yea, so the show rocked. There were a lot of people I'd never seen around there, but a fair number of my friends as well. Sightings included, but were not limited to, Nicole, Amy, Morgan, Maeve, "Hot Dan," Nick, Jerome, Damany, and of course Amie. There was a girl wearing a shirt that said "I am Emosexual," I thought that was rather awesome.
` And of course the Locale AM and Ozma kids are really cool too. I had met Locale AM last year at the SUM41 show so I was down with them already. Of the Ozma guys, Dan was the only one I didn't talk to I think, which sucked because he apparently is friends with my friend Robin and I wanted to do the whole "hey I'm friends with Robin too" thing, and then we'd be like "wow crazy" and smile and nod and it would be a real bonding experience let me tell you. But yea so.. Ryen was really mellow. Neither Vanessa nor Don took a liking to him at all, but I talked to him and he seemed alright.. Pat the drummer kind of reminded me of Britton Roseberry; Britton's dad to be precise. As if anyone reading this is likely to know Britton. Aw thats kinda sad I'm no longer in contact with anyone from that group.. and this is me going off on a tangent. Anyway yea the drummer was smoking while he played. It was funny. Then there was Jose. Jose rocked. Jose and I are like THIS. And Star. Star is the keyboardist. She's way cool. We totally exchanged screen names. She hasn't seen SLC Punk yet. Silly Star.
` I bought Locale AM and Ozma shirts, and a Locale AM CD. But I promptly missplaced the CD.. Vanessa later absconded with my Ozma shirt and apparently now we're going to share it.. wear it on different days. Today she's wearing it. Silly Vanessa. She's a pirate. (=
` After the show was over I went over to Don's and had a 40. Vanessa and a few other people were there.. thats where the actual absconsion of my shirt took place. We all hung out for awhile and had a good time, and then dispersed.
` In summary, it rocked the CoHo. There were people crowd surfing. It was wonderful. Locale AM and Ozma are great bands and great people. Low Flying Owls played too and there ain't nothin wrong with them, they just didn socialize with us as much.. they were a bit older than us I think. But yea. It was good times.
