Yesterday I spent most of the day at The Roxy in Hollywood, where Nick Lucas (The only of my good friends from HS that I still keep in touch with, and yesterday was the first time I'd seen him all summer)'s band Todays End was playing.
We ate at this pizza place between The Roxy and The Whiskey. After this group of guys wearing "Purblind" shirts got up and left this kinda weird guy turned to us and was like "Wow they're playing at the Whiskey tonight" like we should feel honoured to have eatin in their presence, to which one of us responded "We're playing at the Roxy tonight.. we played at The Whiskey LAST week." I think the guy felt truly awed to have met people as famous as us. hehe. And back to "Purblind," who wears their OWN shirt to their show REALLY?
Roxy treated us kinda crappy.. had to pay for parking and all the bands got to share a hot closet-like dressing room, and then we discovered the REAL dressingroom, the door had been hidden behind a curtain..
This band from the Bay Area, They Seem Alive played as well, any of you Bay Area kiddos familiar with them?
Apparently someone from Capitol Records was there and said he wanted to see Todays End again. Coolies.

Livejournal lost this entry the first time I hit send; hence my lack of enthusiasm in making it inordinately long like most of my entries. I hate rewriting things. )=

Arrrghhhh... for two days I've planned on taking pictures at diedrichs today. Lying in bed this morning I was planning out the different angles I'd take to best portray the essense of Diedrichs (Yea thats what I do, shaddup I'm photographyxcore)... the plan was to head down there at 18:00 this evening with the digital camera. But come 1800, no digital camera is to be found. I spent half an hour frantically searching the house, and all I found was four extra AA batteries on dads desk and the battery tester. The camera was low on batteries, it takes four batteries, batteries are sold in packs of eight... I thought about checking the computer to see what the last photograph uploaded was in hopes it would tell me the location of the camera, but then I was like "wait if he'd uploaded them already the camera would be by the computer, duh." I could only conclude he had taken it with him to work, but he wasn't answering the phone...
Finally he called back and said he did indeed have the camera, but couldn't be home before 19:30. By then lighting will be pretty bad but I can still get pictures of people. BUT this means I can't start my drizinking until after that, because I'd have to drive home to gefetch the camera, or as is the current inclination, stay here until he arrives. Grrawr.
I can't take the pictures now for four more days (next monday), because I am working friday evening, and plan on being out adventuring saturday and sunday. )=
