Today the ASUCD Court unanimously accepted Case # 23, Two Internal Affairs Commissioners vs the ASUCD President, Advisor, Senate, Administrative office and Internal Affairs Commission Chairman. The California Aggie ran an article on the issue today.

I hate this week already and its only Tuesday night. Thank god we have a three day weekend coming up.

The "MU" is the center of campus life for many of us. It houses the Coffee House (COHO) and the third floor is the ASUCD Capitol. Special thanks to Amber ([livejournal.com profile] myspoonis2big) for making this picture possible.

So when there is an ASUCD Court case, the plaintiff's and defendents need to be notified via registered mail sent to "their campus address listed on their registration card packet." In this current case, the defendants and plaintiffs total 18 persons.

Doing this for all 16 persons is of course a bit of work. I assumed it was the kind of thing the SGAO was created for. I dropped them off the necessary notification and directions on what must be done, and then a few hours later they got back to me saying I had to do it myself.

Now I can understand them not wanting to do it, its a lot of work, but its the kind of work THEY get paid to do. I do not get paid; it is not my job to spend hours doing menial bureaucratic work.

The SGAO staffmember mentioned that Student Services might be able to help me with it. They're the people that process HR things for the commercial units (Coffee House, Unitrans, etc) and do other bureaucratic things less involved with government. I'll see how much they can help me tomorrow, and I'll consult the rest of the Court in the mean time, but I have a feeling this may get messy.

I write this not only knowing that it will likely be read by many in ASUCD, but with the intention that that occur. I believe that only good can come from general ASUCD consideration of this problem.
I am inherently already involved in this, public discussion of it therefore does not violate impartiality, and nothing herein is confidential. No opinions of any members of ASUCD are discussed and nothing herein has any ramifications on any real or potential ASUCD Cases that I am not already inherently involved in. Thankyou, have a good day.
