So as you should know by now I'm currently located in Mission Viejo. This means "Old Mission" in English (or probably "old monastery" or something since "mission" is a spanish word as well). Incidentally there is not and never has been a mission located in Mission Viejo, to my knowledge. The nearest one is in neighbouring San Juan Capistrano.
Anyway, [livejournal.com profile] nibot took the train in to San Juan Capistrano today from his secret labs in San Diego (I picture the facility looking like the Black Mesa facility in Half-life), se we all went to retrieve him and while we were there ate at the excellent Pedro's Tacos.
As pictured above, he couldn't resist looking for a wireless connection for long.

Also today I worked at the yarn place for a short bit. Later I learned that the husband of the Swedish outgoing store manager, with whom I've had several brief interchanges with in Swedish, but never in English, is actually American. I suppose that explains why he was always reluctant to get into a real conversation with me in Swedish.

1No they're not really making a pilgrimage, I think they're lined up to see a concert. Also note that parts of the mission have been badly damaged by earthquakes.
