Breaking News
Dec. 20th, 2004 07:14 pm We here at Emosnail are proud to bring you some breaking news. Unless you are a high ranking member of ASUCD you will probably be hearing it here first. Unless you are a high ranking member of ASUCD, you probably won't care. It is still important in our opinion. The non-italics in brackets have been added to give an impression of how the persons listed fit into our student government, between the two partes, Focus & Lead, and the SS.
To All Current ASUCD senators/SGO Office Coordinator/Commission Chairs/Committee Chairs/Chairperson Student Court
Below is the e-mail that I sent this moring (12-20-04) to members of the selection committee for the new ASUCD Student Government Advisor. As you know, Vicki Swett recently retired after working in ASUCD for over 30 years. The selection committee interviewed 5 candidates on Tuesday, December 10th. The committee was made up of Kalen Gallagher [Focus, SS], Paloma Perez [Focus], Cameron Menezes [Focus], Vicki Swett [Focus, SS], Kristin Heinen [Focus], Brenda Mora[?], Sapana Shende [Focus], Adam Barr [Lead], and me [Mark Champagne, N/A]. After the interviews, two candidates had the most support to fill this important position. As I contacted references, one of those candidates became the person that had the best fit. I subsequently offered the position to Eric Sanchez and he accepted. He will begin work with ASUCD on 1-3-05. Eric is a recent graduate of UC Davis, so you may know him. He has an extensive background in advising, having worked as the peer advising counselor coordinator for EOP for the past 4 quarters (April of 2003 to June of 2004). He has worked in STEP, EOP, TAPS, Clinica Tepati, and the multicultural immersion program.
Eric will need your help in being successful in this new position. Please welcome warmly in January as he begins his role on the campus.
If you have any questions, please call me at 752-1990 or please feel free to contact any of the committee members that served on the selection committee.
Mark Champagne
