Last Weekend I went down to San Diego to hang out with Kristy Kristersson. Her sister Tracy Tracersson was also visiting at the time, as was Lyrakeet's sister, Forestkeet (and F-keet's boyfriend Warren). At one point in Kristy's apartment we had Kristy, her roommates Sloshie & Lyric, Lyric's boyfriend John (just over from across town), Forest, Warren, Tracy, & myself. It was fun though.
Kristykittens, Tracers and I went to the SD Zoo on Saturday. On Sunday they went shopping. Then the fever that had been touch and go for a day or two overcame Kristy and she felt really ill all of Monday and we had to tend to her.

All week I've been working at the Hughes & Sullivan law firm. You know, divorcin people. Been in Court every day.
Learning interesting things, like that the Plaintiff & Defendant (or Petitioner / Respondent in divorce cases) benches are traditionally at least exactly a sword-thrust away from the Judge's bench (since originally, going way back to the old English courts, the lawyers would have been knights); that the space between the judge and the parties' tables is called "the well" and one is not to ever enter it unless given explicit permission by the judge to approach the bench. Also, the Plaintiff / Petitioner is always on the side closer to the witness stand, regardless of which side of the bench that happens to be.
And also when making objections, lawyers sometimes just say "352" instead of saying what the objection is. I suspect this stands for a specific objection but I haven't figured out which one yet.

I appear to be getting sick myself now. Today I was all achey and had a persistent tickle in my throat. )=

Also the ASUCD Winter election concludes tomorrow. It didn't involve quite so much noteworthy drama as I had expected I think. Apparently some Student Focus candidates are not campaigning for some other Focus candidates, and Fall Focus candidate Friedman just announced his defection from Focus. Of four current Senators elected under Focus, half of them (ie two, Friedman and Ajlouny) no longer consider themselves Focus. For a party that is just barely hanging in there, they aren't doing very well for themselves. Speaking of Ajlouny, he is running for reelection to ASUCD Senate, the first candidate I know of to actually do that, and his platform appears to be primarily ASUCD Dating Services. WTF?
I mean, one might expect such a nutty platform from someone who hadn't previously been involved in ASUCD and was really stretching to come up with something, but during the year he's been on the ASUCD Senate has he seen an urgent need for ASUCD Dating Services?!
Anyway, I'm predicting three seats from this election will go to Lead, two to Focus, and one independant (most likely Laura "how many bad words can I make the Aggie print in my candidate statement" Nevins I think). As to the exec I'm really hoping for a Rob & Arlen "Don't Vote For Us" party win just for the hilarity.
