Tomorrow will be the start of 30 in 30 IV, carrying the proud tradition into its fourth consequtive year.
As most of you know, in 30 in 30 participants write 30 entries in the 30 days of June. Usually we start out with around 20 people ready to go, and end with about half a dozen survivors. You too could become one of the few, the proud!
More than just writing a lot of livejournal entries (or, those of you joining us from the Facebook RSS-feed of this can join in via facebook note-writing!), 30 in 30 has always been about rethinking your blogging, improving upon it. Under the pressure of an entry a day, one finds themselves constantly examining their life and surroundings for that which is interesting, or pondering how to best communicate the latest to their friends in a way that isn't dreadfully dull. As such, I think the 30 in 30 exercise has effects beyond merely the blogosphere, and encompasses a lot more than just a lot of blognerdery.
My favourite aspect has always been the sense of community that develops among the 30 in 30 participants. Every June abuot a dozen people who know eachother just barely, if at all, set down to do this together. Over the month they build off eachothers themes, develop inside jokes, and get to know eachother's writing styles.
An infusion of new participants is necessary to keep each year a little different and new. As such, I would like to extend the invitation to those who haven't done so before. And/or if you happen to know anyone who might be interested, please tell them about it.
And again, those reading this out in Facebookland, you're welcome to participate -- though its recommended you get a livejournal in order to fully integrate.
In Conclusion: You Should Join 30 in 30 IV
Related30in30 Last year's dedicated LJ community, I don't know if it'll be used again.
