Kris, I love you buddy.... and if you want to call me shady then you have the right. But ranking Kristen Birdsall so high to the top (and even shadier than me) is just based off from a personal vendetta over that drama you two shared. She is not shady, even if she is rational.
Anyone with the ethics to be good in public office knows enough to stay out of public office (or simply run in such a way where victory is near impossible so that they will never have to sacrifice their soul). I know this from running in several elections... your soul gets sucked out of you every time you have to shake some strangers hand and make an impossible promise.
I said it before and I'll say it again - there is a letter of the law and a spirit of the law. Now that may be interpreted as me saying one could believe themselves above the law. But given that the law is written by humans it can be flawed. Slavery was legal - that don't make it right. I rationalized the "final solution" because the government had to keep on functioning. ASUCD is more than just bi-laws, it actually needs to function and do things.
I regret plenty of things I did as a senator and campaigning for various offices that I have - but I sleep alright at night, because nothing I did was morally reprehensible. (uh oh - there I go, rationalizing again).
