Not exactly. She does bark (we assume its the terrier in her, because otherwise, she acts like a basenji).. The male didn't bark until she taught him to- but he wasn't silent. Basenjis don't bark, but they yodel, scream, and make other...interesting.. noises. We used to get really ugly looks when we picked Seamus up from the groomer's because he'd scream when he was excited- and it sounded like we were beating him to death when he was actually happy.
