As I'm sitting here trying to write about "cracking up" for LJ Idol, what happens but the Earth itself starts cracking! 4.9 on the richter scale right here right now!

Initial reports ( computer generated)listed the quake at 4.9. After review by seismologists, it was upgraded to 5.0. It has now been reclassified at 4.5.

dammit!

As long as we keep getting these little rumbleez there is no way we're gonna get that massive one that makes volcanoes come out of the streets in LA and knocks tsunamis up and over the Oakland hills. The port of Seattle will never turn to a muddy landslide into Puget Sound, Mt. Ranier St Helens and Shasta wont explode in unison and Dennis Quaid will never traverse the frozen tundras of Central Park while Tommy Lee Jones... does. something... to a volcano. er.

Anyway, I've been watching bad disaster movies for over a quarter century now, hearing about this damned "Big One" and you know what? Im sick of it! Make it come! I'm sick of waiting around! Come on already!

Really. I wish the big one would come. That way my ocean front property in Arizona will really be ocean front. That's a hell of a thing to say. We get few quakes here (which is good 'cause they creep me out) but I actually live not far from one of the major fault lines at the foot of the Rockies. Apparently it's fairly stable although one of the fundie groups was predicting a major quake along that line a few years ago. I'm still sittin' on it though.

I just read your entry - about the chickens - and it was great. But this would have been a VERY clever twist on cracking up.

Why Mr Snal, with all these bonus cracking up entries, you are really spoiling us!

Can't wait to see your actual entry - can't believe you're on the list of shame when you've said so much on the subject already (and short ones can do well, they just have to be really good and say a lot with few words. Which this post does, for example.

Earthquakes scare the hell out of me. I live in Chicago, so the most we have are tornadoes that never hit near me.
