Haha yeah I read the wiki page about them and they mentioned the myth. Though finding them in ears HAS apparently been known to happen since they like small warm moist locations.
But yeah, all I've determined so far is their mentioned like of warm moist locations. Which means the bees are successfully keeping warm, but bees don't like moisture so if I can find out earwig's specific moisture preferences I can determine if maybe the bees are having a humidity problem. Also they like to eat small insects "like aphids" which makes me excited that maybe they'll eat the varroa mites and hive beetles that afflict bees??
