Bee Shaking 2011

   I've got to run out the door real quick here to go back up to Davis for more work related stuff but I wanted to real quick post our pictures of the bee package adventure.

   My boss and I drove up to pick up packages of bees from a bee breeder to augment our current stocks. In the following slide show you will see (1) some pictures from the bee breeder's facility, including their very nice office; (2) various scenery up there; (3) bee breeder's employees shaking bees from their hives into the packages; (4) loading up the packages onto our truck; (5) pictures from the journey down here; (6) us and volunteers from the Orange County Beekeeper's Association shaking the bees from the packages into our boxes (well I didn't actually get any pictures of the actual shaking because I was busy at the time but pictures from before and after that); (7) insane amounts of bees in the air!!

Ah no the river goes through a turn right there so I was able to stand on the bank at the turn and get a picture that looked like the middle of the river. And no its not cost effective to plant flowers for bees, those fields just happened to be full of flowers for some other reason, but the bees are't going to complain! (:
