So. Females in general seem to have pretty good fashion sense -- a pretty good sense of what looks good together or at all. BUT. There seems to be one area in which many female's sense of what looks right is strangely completely and utterly out the window.

Eyebrows. Don't get me wrong 95+% get it right by either not messing with them or doing something decent to them, but a shocking number seem to be completely oblivious to the fact that shaving them completely off and drawing them on with a thin pen looks AWFUL. AWFUL!! The culprits of this frequently compound the problem by drawing them on in bright red while the rest of their hair is a different colour or putting them too high so they look perpetually surprised. How can anyone look in the mirror after doing this and not think "wow that looks awful I solemnly vow to never do that again" ???

Yeah.... that whole painted on eyebrow thing

I never got that. I get mine waxed. I have full eyebrows and we keep them trimmed, and neat. This is something I recently (last few years) started doing. I would pluck furiously to keep the unibrow look from happening.

Now, I wax them to keep them trimmed, and shaped, but I still have full thick eyebrows.

I also feel sorry for those who don't have eyebrows to begin with, they are soooo thin. No matter what you do, you can't color or pencil them in to get them to look right.

Ahh another one of my friends posted about this recently.

Also, I have a cousin who has TATTOOED EYEBROWS.

One of the two people I had in mind when I wrote this had tattooed eyebrows. They fell into the category of "too high on her head," and also they were black/dark-green whereas her hair on her head was a light brown. It looked... odd.

I would feel bad if maybe they had no eyebrows or lost them in an accident or something but I know my cousin got hers permanently lasered off.

WHICH IS A KIND OF ACCIDENT.

Yeah, not a fan of the whole eyebrow-painted-on thing.

Great photo!

Red? That's insane. Have you seen folks who actually do this, and then tattoo eyebrows on? Wonder how much facial skin sags over a lifetime, and whether it does so evenly.

Also, reminds me of this old picture:

I read in a biography on Lucille Ball that when she was a chorus girl in a movie, the director, wanting all the dancers to look the same, had them dye their hair one color and had them shave off their eyebrows so that they could be shaped the same and that hers never did grow back (???? seems weird, right?) that a number of the girls' eyebrows never grew back, and that she had to draw them in from then on. Not an excuse but, maybe some of these women tried it once, not realizing what could be the consequences and now they're stuck. Of course, I've never researched whether this could happen, I just liked the story, and your picture, I like your picture very much.
