aggienaut Yesterday was my last of 15 days straight working. Now I'm freeeeee. So of course I went to Diedrichs last night. Some highlights:
Tristan: "Croat and Becka got in a big fight." Everyone: "meh." Tristan: "And Croat smashed a 40." Everyone: "What??" Me: "Not a full one I hope??" Tristan: "yes a full one." Everyone: "::gasp:: no!!" Me: "Not... Steel reserve I hope???" Tristan: "I think it was." Everyone: "OH MY GOD NO!!!"
And: Mike the Horrible Human is running to the liquer store. A cop pulls up next to him: "Hey! Why are you running!??" Mike: "I was TRYING to get to the liquor store before it closed, but now YOU'VE fucked that up!" Cop: "Oh. Be on your way then." Keep in mind Mike is wanted by the cops for numerous offenses, and come by periodically specifically to look for him. And knowing him I don't doubt for a second that he talked to the cop that way.
Speaking of Mike tHH, he was particularly odious to me for most of the evening, but then after I ungrudgingly gave him some of my beer he declared he wasn't going to be mean to me anymore. We'll see how long that lasts. But the point is that that just seems too much like something out of some made-for-TV disney movie; that by my being unfalteringly nice to him he too starts being nice? I hate that sappy crap.

eatrice) was randomly at Diedrichs last night. That was cool, only second time I've seen her this summer. I love the way she calls people on their contradictions. H.I.V. (yes that is his nickname, need I say more?): "I was forced to watch Lord of the Rings once" Jessika: "I LIKE Lord of the Rings" HIV: "Oh me too but..." Jessika: "wait I thought you were 'forced' to watch it?" ...that was only the most obvious incident; but its fun to watch her talk to people.. its like a spectator sport.
Her entry about diedrichs is something that all those unfamiliar with the scene (and those that are) should check out.
I signed up for classes today. It took all of three minutes. I am now signed up for Poli Sci 121 ("War") and 154 ("Legal Theories"), Physics 137 ("Nuclear Weapons and Terrorism"), Russian 04, and Military Science 11 ("Army Organization"). Yea I may as well be majoring in world dominion. =D
My schedule is for excellent though. Start at 9am two days a week, 11am on monday and friday, and 12:10 on Wednesday. I have naught but ONE class on both Wednesday and Friday. Done no later than 16:30, and on Friday I'm done at 11:50. Shyea.

Date: 2003-09-03 09:13 am (UTC)Funny that Physics 137 is ``Nuclear weapons and terrorism'' at Davis... 137 is a special number in physics because 1/137 is almost exactly the 'fine structure constant' which is one of the triumphs of quantum mechanics.. Physics 137 is Quantum Mechanics just about everywhere... But "Nuclear Weapons and Terrorism"?? They don't really even have much to do with each other.
