   Today there was a private party at wild rivers, so I worked 16:00 to 21:00. At first I was rather suspicious in that half the sponsors were skateboarding companies and things, and half were youth ministries... but hey this is Orange County so they might have invited themselves to prey upon the impressionable adolescent skaters... but as time went on it became more and more apparent that the whole event was just seeping with religion.. until towards the end they had one of their evil high priests take the stage (yea they had a stage, upon which among other things some ridiculous white rappers performed and reminded the crowd that jesus loves them), told some really lame story about how shepherds look after their lambs and thats how jesus looks after themm or something. Anyway, I think I'll refrain from saying much more about Them, lest some religious nut afflict me again.
   Because it was an irregular day and whatnot, all guards on the wavepools when I got there (save myself of course) were supervisors. So every single one of them outranked me, yet I have been there longer than every single one of them.
   And speaking of supervisors, contrary to what I may have previously implied, Jeffrey Whetstone ([livejournal.com profile] forrest441) is not a manwhore. In fact though I have seen several girls completely swoon over him I haven't heard any rumours of him seducing ANYONE yet this year. And he's one of the best supervisors to boot. So in summary I suggust all the young ladies that are reading this message him on AIM (Adiman10) ASAP. Did I mention he bakes cookies?
   Anyway. Today was probably the last day working there of my six year career. In the end I didn't go around saying goodbye to people, I just walked silently off into the night.

PICTURE of the day. A newt apparently, that I rescued from our pool, climbing up my arm.

Hee. Its the underside of my arm. My arm is like a fish, tanly coloured on one side and pale and white on the underside. And anyway its lookin unusually tan for my arm, like, serious. See the colour of the box this comment is in? Thats usually my arm. No joke.

We roadtripped to Atlanta and I nearly swipped the Super8 Bible...but then I found out it was a King James version -_-;

biblical

Oh I totally forgot to mention - like a week or two ago someone stole a gideon's bible from a hotel and had gotten a book of mormon from some roving mormons (seperate incidents? but the same day)... Several of us flipped through the bible curiously, however the book of mormon was instantly ravaged and torn to shreds by one Tristan.

is the King James version a good thing or a bad thing? I feel like I really ought to read one so I can better destroy religious nuts - preferably the most accurately translated / least "modernized" version.

haha...that's what it was, one of the gideon things... yaknow in the first page it's got this big thing that says "What The Bible Says About........... Itself" :D that someone ended up in a discussion of the grossness of christ crackers and being drunk on sacramental grape juice... 'Ohhh, I don't need no gum, I got JESUS! He makes my breath all minty-fresh!' o.o;

ehehe... I had one of those lovely insane religious comic pamphlets that get handed out....and um..my friend decided to literally TAKE A BITE OUT OF IT o.o;;; What was left got tacked up on the corkboard next to the purple thong with pink fringe and sparkle glow star.... o.o

hehehe it's one of THE MOST biased and badly translated versions and it used to be fairly commonly used, but my friend (who used to be a superchristian) was saying that there were a couple more versions that were more accurate and more widely used but I forget what they were called...International standard something translation, another was 'good news'... but yeah, I've been looking for one for the same reason :D

Those religious cartoons; they are called "chic tracts" (cause the guy who made them is Jack Chic or something).. he totally has an uber-ridiculous webpage.. I don't have the address though /= Lacking that go here, it has nothing to do with chic tracks but.. yea.
