I loved the way you ended this, as well as how you used the sandwiches. Personally, I think a sandwich for breakfast is a fine idea. I liked it that you did not specify the situation that led to the breakdown and riots. These could have been political riots, food riots, or something else. This brought to mind the riots of the 60s, Kent State, Bull Connor, and too many others.
