So today I'm walking off campus in search of the Education Abroad Office, along third street. So I pass a parked police care right on the corner next to the mobile hot-dog cart and am like "hm thats odd, whats it doing HERE." but continue on my way...
Suddenly I hear shouting and scuffling behind me. Turn around and at first I think there are three frat guys joking around or something: three muscular guys are in a pile on the ground.. but then I see "POLICE" written on one guys dark blue shirt. The guy on the bottem had a shaved head and was saying "please sir, I can't breath, please sir!" (serious, he was definitely saying "please sir"), while the officer and this guy in a pink shirt yelled "stop moving!" Eventually they subdued the individual and approximately hella police officers arrived on the scene, as well as an ambulance eventually (just to confirm they had not injured the suspect I guess).
Apparently NO ONE saw what happened. An officer that came up to a bunch of us to ask if any of us saw it said "I don't really know myself... I think he was resisting the officer or something." Talking to the guy that worked the hot-dog cart was more informative: "that one officer has been hanging out here on the corner all day ... he met up with the guy in the pink shirt for about ten seconds and then they both rushed that other guy..." I was rather unclear on what event he meant they had waited ten seconds from. There was significant speculation among the various onlookers that the guy in the pink shirt was an undercover officer. In a pink shirt. Silly.
No sign of our favorite Officer Chang.
And too bad hot dogs at the hot dog cart are $3 and aren't even grilled.
