I thought The Rings of Power got better as it went, where you slowly realize that the elves' single-minded burning hatred of the Uruk-Hai is a little genocide-y. Like maybe the elves aren't the perfect near-godly beings of pure light and goodness that they are in Tolkein's books. But I wouldn't classify it as an absolutely must-watch, and there were some things that didn't make a ton of sense. Also the proto-Hobbits, I forget what they were called, were like these gross caricatures of dirty Oirish peasants. It's like it's impossible to keep bigotry out of fantasy even when you're really making an effort.
