   I just watched Senator Ackerman resign. It was.. unexpected?

   Literally seconds before this happened I was saying to someone else "its inevitable now that he'll have to resign, such a tide has risen up against him." Then I walk into the room to hear him saying "...effective immediately..."

   For those of you who have no idea who Senator Ackerman is, he's one of our school (ASUCD) senators. He was caught attempting to steal $300 from the campus bookstore at the begining of his term and since then the calls for him to resign have become heavily the students versus the ASUCD government.

   Seeing all the members of ucdavis at the Senate meeting I really got the feeling it was the livejournal community specifically who was most adament about his resignation.. though I suppose there were a lot of people there for the same reason that weren't members of livejournal.

   This issue has so consumed our newspapers and discussions for the past two weeks that it feels like a bigger event than those of you who don't go to Davis would expect I think. Never in my involvement at Davis has the campus felt so adamantly about something.

incidentally if one takes out of consideration the possible motivation that appointing me to senate would remove me from my current position, I think my odds go out to 1:112 - and that good only because I've always gotten along well with Kalen

I feel that, due to my quasi-marital relationship with a certain member of the executive staff, that my odds would be somewhere along the lines of yours. I don't think I'm going to apply though. I've been sitting up, reading, and listening to the rain, and I just don't think I want it anymore.

My money would be on Bob if Behzad were to recognize that its more important to Bob and defer to him, or if Kalen realizes the same and Behzad is apathetic on the subject.

I had my window open so I could listen to the rain till it got too cold in here. Rain is indeed excellent.

I had music on, so I actually smelled the rain before I heard it. I love the smell of rain, especially when it's been dry for a while.
