The Chosen Echidna the humorous newsletter I started a little over four years ago (June 11th, 2000), has not gone out since issue XII ("Echidnii are Forever") last September. It had been 364 days since the previous newsletter at that point. The original intention was for the newsletter to go out once a week, and during its hay-day it did do that for several months.
Anyway, the point is that once again I'm getting the hankerin to come out with another issue. Problem is, all my former columnists have fled, faked their own deaths, and/or are wanted for war crimes. I'm hoping however, that due to the miracles of livejournal and the numerous highly skilled writers I've seen on here lately I'll be able to put together an all-star team to make the comeback and then write a movie about it on the underdog-sports-team-comes-together-and-wins formula. If you would like to write an article for the newsletter please contact me asap (this could be as simple as adapting your favourite livejournal entry).
See if this is for you by checking out the archives. And of course there's no excuse for anyone not to be subscribed, so submit your email address into the thing above.

A Search for Life in OC
Today I finally decided to venture forth and see what everyone is up to down here in Orange County (note: NOT referred to as "the OC" in real life).

First stop of course was Diedrichs off La Paz (AKA DLP, or Delta Lambda Pi if we're feeling really saucy). If you've read this journal during any previous break you'll know that this is the social center of Mission Viejo.
While I had sensed a general falling out among the former patrons of DLP, I was nevertheless shocked to find NO ONE there. There were some patrons of more reputable appearance than the persons I was looking for, but neither any of my associates nor even an equivelent new generation of lollygaggers was present, nor were any of the coffee technicians familiar to me.
I regrouped however and called my friend Shasta, whom I was able to convince to go to the Irvine Spectrum (local place of impluse-buy shops, various clubs, and general commercialized evening entertainment) with me for coffee. There we found that the Spectrum Diedrichs was closed down -- this having been site of many an adventure once upon a time and a central part of the Spectrum Diedrichs Trilogy1.
While there we ran into [livejournal.com profile] ambiguouscase, AKA Knobs, who commented on my "megablogging." Plus 15 culture points to her for the megablog reference. Also I ran into my good friend from 8th grade, who I don't think I've seen since, Jonathon Wright, who asked me how Sweden2 was. He tried to give me his phone number but I had too much writing on my hand already (hand + sharpie = notepad).
   Then we dispersed. The end.

I am currently conducting an investigation on the former members of the "Diedrichs crew;" Where are they now?

1There is no excuse for not having read this.
2I was in Sweden for all of 10th grade.
