As you may or may not recall, the other day I was forced to go the beach. It turns out there WERE in fact pictures taken at the beach. Not by me and not of awesome things like power stations 200 ft nuclear d-cups or the giant honey-stick, but pictures that can be used to illustrate my loathing of the beach:

(1) 1:00pm - Me, me dad, & my nefarious brother [livejournal.com profile] nibot
(2) 2:00pm - Mother and I
(3) 3:00pm - I've been reduced to weeping bitter tears. Bitter tears of sadness.1

Today, in addition to keeping up with my quota of 2.67 lj entries I've begun a more serious stage of looking for employment. I've got an app for The Coffee Bean as previously noted, and also for a company that provides lifeguards to a lot of local pools. There are apparently a lot of former and disillusioned Wild Rivers employees with the former. Also I think I'll apply at Diedrichs and Ritz Camera. Also, mother says they need to hire someone to do inventory at The Yarn Lady; so far I'm the only member of this family not to have recieved a pay check from there. Counting yarn: totally punk rock.

Also it looks likely that the infamous Pavel Ivanov, better known as [livejournal.com profile] pavelthegeek may live with me next year; a new era of awesomeness is about to begin2!!

1Actually I completely made up the times there. Those pictures aren't actually even in order.
2How many new eras have I heralded lately?

NOW I know what your papa looks like!

That first picture is quite adorable, I would save it on my laptop if it was functional.
I know that head-down position very well (you in the third picture), that's your Iloathethesun/IneedcaffeineASAP/IneedsomefoodASAP/Bluh-ergh position. Hee.
That would be so awesome if Pavel lived with you, I love me some Russians.

Yea I've had strangely few pictures of him in the past, I guess he's just devious like that. The pic's a wee bit bigger on photobucket.

I've been reduced to weeping bitter tears. Bitter tears of sadness.

Notice that my technique is to hibernate.

A useful term to put into action here is ESTIVATE, which means: to sleep through the summer. Many members of this family have been known to attempt such actions in the past. Most, however, are now gainfully employed and find estivation quite impossible. MOST.

estivation

Estivation is an excellent undertaking.

ah, sure enough:

hibernal - adj : characteristic of or relating to winter; syn: brumal, hiemal

where does "estivate" come from? est-ivate should mean "to bring into being" as I read it.

hmm

how about "estival" - "having to do with the summer"; from latin "aestas" meaning "summer"

I wonder if festival comes from estival?

no, sadly it doesn't seem to.. festival is from latin festus.

anyway, are there any other est* words that have to do with the summer?
