Photo Essay: A Night At Diedrichs

   Saturday night I ended up spending the whole evening hanging out at Diedrichs. This is the story as told in pictures. This is friends-only because I'd imagine this could potentially get certain security guards and/or diedrichs employees in trouble.

24:12 - annotated group shot. Unannotated version.


22:03 (10:03pm) - I arrive. Am suprised to find Whiskers ("Do ANY of your friends have normal names?" -Kristy) from Robin Kivlin's band to be playing in Diedrichs. Robin himself and a bunch of his other friends whom I've seen around were also in attendence. One of his friends has a decommissioned police cruiser and I'm mad jealous.

23:03 - Man I'm spacing on this kids name.. I want to say.. Dan Hetchell? He was in my MUN class in HS. I'm so terrible with names. Also note the coffee bean insignia on his shoulder. Yep he works at the same one as Petey and Krispy.

23:13 - Tristan rocks out.

23:44 - Krispy, looking strangely like Bob Gill in my opinion.

25:12 (1:12am) - Our security guard Danny is no longer in his uniform, even though he's on duty till 2:00. Incidentally when a white van happened to come by HE was the only one to run to his car and hide.. cause it could have been his supervisor and him not in his uniform might be a problem. "There were some kids I was supposed to look out for here.. I think it was you guys," yes Danny its true, we're the reason they have security guards at Diedrichs now, but we have a history of bonding with the guards. Last summer we got security guard Andy smashed after his shift ended on his last day. Yesterday Danny announced that we're all invited to his birthday party.
   If I can find a way to host video I have a hilarious little video I took with the digital camera of Danny goofin off on the job.

1:16am- Girl on the left had totally been in the cingular store I went into the other day (where the employee who helped me seemed to know absolutely nothing incidentally), but I didn't know her at the time. Her, on saturday night: "Ah you're Kris Fricke. I've been hearing about you for six years."


1:39am - This without a doubt is the picture that going to win me the first ever Nobel Peace Prize for awesomeness in photography. And less psychotic picture of Diedrichs employee Ryan. Round about this time (~2am) he opened up diedrichs and went in to make himself a drink.


2:02am - Tristan


2:06am - Christie (sp?!) tries on my hat.

   And thats the end of the pictures. We were there until 3:30am though. Security guard Danny was counting down the hours till he got off work at 2am, then at around 2:10 someone pointed out to him that he was off and he was like "yay! eh.. I don't feel like goin home yet." Also I think we all might have left earlier but we didn't want to leave him there (isn't that a bit ironic?) .. ehh, we prolly would have been there no matter what.

Quote of the evening: "anyone else think its ironic that a skinhead is delivering the bagels?" -Tristan, at around 2am when the bagel delivery man showed up.
