Weekend with a Halo
Yesterday (Saturday) I hung out with Jimmy "Knut" McTaige (sp? I used to even know what "taige" meant in Irish but now I can't even remember how to spell it).

"Why is he called 'Knut?'" you ask. Well, one day back in the dark ages when I was a wee 9th grader, we had a new high jump coach. This new high jump coach, whose name has been lost to the annals of time, told us all to say our name before our first jump so he could figure out who were were and all. I went last, and with a straight face said my name was "Nigel." So of course the coach believed me, and before you know it, all the other jumpers are calling me Nigel as a joke. Eventually the head coach, who had formerly known my real name, became convinced my name was Nigel as well, which was really funny because he was totally not in on the joke.
Anyway, the other jumpers decided they needed saucy pseudonyms as well. One of the jumpers declared himself Shaneequa or something and could not be argued into admitting otherwise. Jimmy asked me for a good saucy name and I gave him "Knut," a good viking name which isn't actually too obsolete in some of the more sassy areas of Scandinavia (hey Norway's foreign minister for a long time has been named "Kjell" sometihng).

Anyway, so I went over to Knut's place Saturday afternoon, and there were like eight other guys there, including his younger brother Brian, this kid that was a total weiner in HS, Soltan Danesh, and Keebler of Diedrichs fame, whom I hadn't expected to be there at all.
And this irrationally liberal kid from Knut's debate team was there and he was more interesting than most but his conspiracy theories were a bit much.. anyway I found it funny that when we were talking about good sources of news (and like many irrationally liberal crackpots he said he uses some site that you need to have an account to log into and whatnot.. yeah thats always a sign of a good news source. But hey, lest I sound biased, I bet you irrational conservative crackpots have similar sites? Or maybe they're just public because they know their opponents don't read them?), and I said I only really pay attention to unadulterated AP or Reuters wires. And he was like "but.. they don't have any analysis" and I was like "yeah. thats the point. I do my own thinking." And he was like "oh" like this seriously had never occured to him and was a novel new idea.

Then we played Halo pretty much all evening, four on four.

Picture of the Day

This picture was originally scanned several years ago, and then yahoo photos resized it to an irritatingly small size, and then just now I upped the contrast (original), so this picture has been through a lot. That's Jimmy in the center, Brad Harris in the background (anyone know what he's up to these days) and the girl in the foreground I know only as "Quinby" because thats what the awesome Mr McClure always called her, an intentional misspronouncement of her real last name. Then Mr McCLure went and married the evil Mrs Lesowitz. WTF?!

Nonsex
Speaking of pictures, observe this entry and comment in support of the forces of nonsex. Or in opposition if you really feel so inclined but we need more opinions on the subject.

I don't remember.. I think he had maybe divorced or soemthing? He was a cynical old single man when I had him.

I also had Lesbobitch I mean lesowitz freshman year and found her to be evil and perverted.. I mean she'd point out the sexual ennuendos in things as if we weren't seeing all those and more (that might not have even existed in reality) ourselves.

It was a scary union; I kept having to deal with it because Lesowitz was prom administrator or something while I was making a prom video for them a year or so back, and the wedding was coming up; so blah blah blah blah blah

I had her freshmen year, she gave me a BLAH grade;

but she treated my sister worse!!!

and I quote: "Lauren, your brother was smart; didn't apply himself, and got low to ok grades. You have half his intelligence, and also aren't applying yourself. What do YOU think is going to happen?"

Haha omg I can picture her saying that too. I think I vaguely recall that she was nicer to the boys, perhaps sometimes just barely disguising the fact that she may even secretly think dirty thoughts about some of them..

Nonsex sounds like a rival band for Momsex.

Their hit song would be Ninja Vs. Robots.

We should seriously ask [livejournal.com profile] trembyle to do a Ninja vs Robots or something... Zombies v Pirates is so damn good... I wish they'd get more stuff up online.

Also did you see the Christopher Walken reference?

Yeah, and then Ninja vs Robots vs Zombies vs Pirates.

How dare the Walken name be shamed!

Yeah thats actually the subtitle I've given the picture most places I've posted it (a number of my pictures can be found at yahoo photos, photobucket, AND deviantart). Too bad the pepsi is not facing the right. If it were an add I picture it having something to do with her thinking she's hitting on him and then he's all like "hey can I have some pepsi?"
