The good news, is that none of my finals falls later than Tuesday, December 14th. I think I have always previously had a final on the very last day, which in this case I think might be the 18th. The bad news, however, is that all four of my finals are ON THE 14TH.

Electing Principals
In other news, I find it amusing that the POL179 (special topics) topic next quarter is "electoral law." Here is the course description. I can think of a number of people who probably should take this class. Or maybe the elections committee could at least establish contact with the professor for consultation and advise. Incidently, while we're on the subject, I have in front of me here the business card of the university legal council of UC Davis (well, one of two), Deborah Allison, specializes in electoral law. She's very friendly and has given ASUCD (the Court at least) advise before.. the Elections Committee probably could have / should have consulted her before doing anything unusual.
Incidently, in the Ukraine, following rampant elections fraud in the recent election, the Ukrainian Supreme Court has ruled the results null and void and ordered a re-run of the election. The outgoing president has also expressed an interest in canning the current 15 member elections committee.
This is a prime example of the general theory that when elections fraud is so rampant as to be likely to have changed the results of an election, the whole election is declared to have been invalid. The Supreme Court simply orders the issuers of Certificates of Election (the Secretary of State in California's case, the Controller in ASUCD) not to issue them, and the Senate (or other effected body) not to seat anyone from the election. A new election is then embarked upon.
Also on this subject, two formal complaints regarding the ASUCD Elections Committee will be heard before a Student Judicial Affairs board in the Mee room starting at 1pm on Sunday, December 12th. The hearing is open to the public.

Toxic Relations
Also, I returned home from UCLA to find several holes in the floor near our kitchen. Apparently it was discovered that the leakage had caused major damage under our floor, AND there was toxic mold under there. I'm told the mold appears to be under control however, dashing my hopes to get moved to one of the apartments in the trees that has a fireplace.
One of the girls from downstairs came up to tell us to put a towel under the leak the other day. These are the girls that didn't pay for the internet we were sharing with them for half the year last year, were complaining about Chen's motorcycle getting in their way, were probably the ones who thought I was too close to their car for them to open their door (while still entirely in my spot), etc. So anyway, one of them got into an argument with Jason about the nature of the problem and what we should do about it. This was rather hilarious to me because there is nothing Jason loves more than discussing maintanance problems. The length of time the girl continued to maintain that she was correct and Jason was wrong was really quite shocking. After she left however, we all proceeded to "talk mad shit" about how foolish she was, only to hear "WE CAN STILL HEAR YOU!!!" shouted up from the hole...

Unrelated
   I. I find THIS to be particularly amusing.
II. Also I'd like to note my prerogative to make references to one of my very best friends, Aaron Aviv ([livejournal.com profile] pretendforkeeps), and consequently I declare a jihad on [livejournal.com profile] pygmypeach81.

yeah. i'm in a russian literature course, and i need to do an art project. it doesn't have to have anything to do with literature, though. it just has to be russian.

Speaking of mold, check out my journal. I had an awesome battle with a Mold Monster the other day. My boyfriend is still sleeping off the ill effects of his exposure...

Oh and then I get on the bus this morning to find one of the girls from downstairs complaining about how the dust/mold from the situation is making them all caugh down there and is generally terrible. Now it does smell kind of rank and I don't like having holes all over my kitchen, but its not making us caugh or anything remotely physically irritating up here, so I'm inclined to believe they're just continueing to be melodramatic "victims."

Yikes. They can't schedule two exams on the same day here, and if you happen to have two exams on the same day you're entitled to a special 3rd attempt.
Also, hooray for toxic mold! Maybe you can make LSD out of it.

a jihad against little old me? total weaksauce.

seriously though, you really just made me upset because bringing him up constantly in regards to sexual innuendos and other such sexual topics is totally not cool. i have a feeling you would be hurt just as much if i kept doing something like that to you regarding kristy.

anyway, i'm over it. i just had to vent, which is one of the many purposes for an lj, n'est-ce pas?

Nah, I really don't see why one would be upset about it. I do the same thing to pretty much anyone else, and no one seems to have a problem with it. Its a foreign concept to me as to why one would be upset by the mentioning of someone they like.

because she misses him! Doi. (sorry for speaking for you Olivia)

<3Pleeeeeeease let's all get along so we can fun in tahoe, kthanks.

From: [identity profile] pygmypeach81.livejournal.com
it's true. (both the response she gave and the subject of this comment.)

and besides kris, i don't see how just because no one else seems to mind such commentary i'm not allowed to find it a tad bit annoying. i understand he's your friend and you're right, you can talk about him all you want. but as soon as you start talking about what sorts of sexual exploits i may or may not have participated in, you are talking about me and aaron, and therefore, it is perfectly fine for me to want you to stop because my sexual exploits are none of your business whatsoever.

but seriously, can we drop it? kthanks.
From: [identity profile] emosnail.livejournal.com
We can drop this but I'm not necessarily going to stop making references to Aaron. It seems to me people should not be ashamed of their relationships.
From: [identity profile] pygmypeach81.livejournal.com
yes, i realize you will continue to make references to aaron. because a)he's your friend and so i guess that gives you a right to reference him whenever you want and b)i can't tell you what to do (or not do for that matter) and i understand that.

and who said anything about being ashamed of my relationship?

being ashamed and not appreciating your insinuations about my relationship with aaron are two totally different things. let me clarify this. i'm not ashamed of anything i did or did not do with aaron. however, whatever we did isn't anyone's business but our own. it doesn't even matter if he gave you all the gritty details himself, it's not a matter of public discusion and i'm not comfortable having those details disclosed to all my close friends by someone other than me. and i realize you weren't sharing details and i don't even know what you know about goings on between myself and aaron. the point is, that by referencing actions that may have taken place between aaron and me you are also referencing me and i don't want to be referenced in that manner. make references to aaron and other girls, fine. make references to aaron and other guys, fine. make references to aaron, fine. but leave me the fuck out of it.

i hold no hard feelings because i know you had no way of knowing i would have reacted this way to what you must have thought was a little fun. i apologize if that entry (which you will notice is no longer public because i didn't appreciate you linking to it without my consent, and i don't care if i'm called a coward for doing so. it's my journal and i can do with it what i so desire) offended you. i tend to overdramatize things in my lj because i like to expand on the truth and take things to extreme because it makes things more entertaining for me to read when i look back.

i hope i have made my position on the matter clear and thank you in advance for taking my feelings into account.
From: [identity profile] emosnail.livejournal.com
I never made any references to anything sexual, to any "undisclosed details," to anything except Aaron. I believe the interchange this is all about is my saying "lets call Aaron and see" after YOU said something sexual. YOU were talking sex, the only thing I added to the conversation was Aaron's name. Saying that I was delving unnecessarily into the "gritty" details of your sex life is really really misrepresenting the situation.

I find the reference to "linking to [my entry] without my consent" worth some examination as well. There's absolutely no precedent anywhere for it to be wrong to point others in the direction of something someone said. In fact the prevailing tendency is for people frown upon speaking of someone and then hiding what one said about them from examination. Personally I don't get excited about that but I know a lot of people get pretty butthurt when someone speaks ill of them and tries to hide it.

And I don't mean to tell you how to operate your livejournal, but as long as we're having a nice forthright conversation, I might recommend that blowing things out of proportion when complaining about people who are highly liable to become aware of it is probably a Bad Idea if one wants to avoid escalating problems and causing drama. Don't get me wrong, I sometimes feel the need to complain about people myself in this livejournal, but when I do I usually try to stick to the facts, and either do it in an entry coded so only people that don't know them can read it (trashing someone to people who know them, but without them being able to read it themselves, is another morally reprehensible situation one should avoid), or if I do actually want them to know how I feel I'll essentially address it to them directly and hope that they do in fact find it (as was the recent case with the Elections Committee, & Senate for examples).

Not that I'm saying I expect you to adopt the above principals. I just enjoy discussing things which resemble judicial principles applied to social and ethical behaviour. Also I got a bit of an impression that you felt your principles of behaviour were self-evident (vis-a-vis the unqualified "...without my consent..." accusation), and so I wanted to kind of lay out that there are well thought-out modes of conduct that are completely contrary to your mode of operation, to whom you may seem as ogre-like as I may to you.
