Taco Bell Boycott Campaign is Inaccurate -my letter got published. (they actually didn't make any painful edits from the original version this time.)
"On April 1, 1996, the fast food restaurant chain Taco Bell took out a full-page advertisement in The New York Times announcing that they had purchased the bell to "reduce the country's debt" and renamed it to "the Taco Liberty Bell." Thousands of people who did not immediately get the April Fool's Day hoax protested." -Wikipedia.org.

The Ozma Show - you guys still remember Ozma right? They've broken up since then. Ozma show was perhaps one of the most awesome shows ever in the CoHo. It was packed. And Matt Jojola got a kickass picture of it from through the roof. And I had dinner with Ozma and got bandmember Star's screen name.

I think these workers would persue further education if they could. Often the opportunities do not present themselves. Its just not that cut and dry

Doesn't make sense to put the people you wish to support out of business. Might be more effective to protest the owners (Pepsi) instead. Or the FDA, or OSHA Perhaps I'm preaching to a choir.

like I said in my letter, why not a more tomato intensive business, like a catsup company? Boycotting Taco Bell will be more likely to hurt the Grade D Tortilla Makers of America, and the Cabbage Dicer Federation before it impacts tomato harvesters.

In my experience, people with the will to boycott Taco Bell for such reckless reasoning aren't likely to eat at Taco Bell to begin with.

Can I start a counter-campaign with flyers that read: "You're all idiots!"

Of how about one that says "office executives must lift the weight of an african elephant in paperwork just to feed their family for five years, end the oppression of office executives!!"

The President has to maneuver the equivalent of hundreds of thousands of dollars every year going into and out of his personal savings accounts. End the oppression of the United States President!

To say nothing of the countless papercuts these executives must receive, wholly uncompensated!! I seriously want to counterflyer on this. What graphic would I use to highlight the plight of office executives?

Order something without tomatoes?

Or better yet, increase your consumption in order to support the famished tomato harvesters and spite the liberty bell haters!!

Incidently I ate taco bell today.

So I was thinking about this whole entry and got to thinking about how much weight we, as students, carry around on OUR backs in a given day. My bag is at LEAST 40-45 lbs. And there are days I'm carrying it for 4, 8, sometimes even 12 hours!

Yeah. When one goes backpacking for multi-day trips in the mountains, packs are routinely over 50 lbs. After a few days of continuously carrying these, one can even run with it.

I'm not saying Taco Bell is wonderful, but this anti Taco Bell campaign is SO ridiculous it offends me.

This isn't related to the rest of the thread....

What does S.N.A.I.L. Project stand for? I'm guessing it means Student News Airing In Livejournal Project. Am I right?
