Catching Up

So heard back on the status of my laptop. Apparently multiple important pieces of hardware are irreperably toasted. So its hella dead. So I need a new laptop.
Last week when I was at the Irvine Spectrum with Kristy we ran into my friend Nick Lucas. It was the first time I'd seen anyone from the "group" of my friends from HS in at least three years. Four years since I've seen or talked to any of them other than him.
Today I ran into Shasta (shasta333) and Michelle (
offbeat_bareass) at the Spectrum. I'm glad I got to see them before returning to Davis.
Reports from the Grand Canyon trip my parents and the two frenchman went on are that there was a "talk like Kris day" ("such sauce!"). Also Clement's faulty english apparently caused some amusement, with lizards being referred to as "little dinasaurs" and grass as "little trees."

Summarizing Summers
So a lot of other people are summarizing their summers in their livejournal right now. The last two summers I've meant to do such a summary but never got around to it. To catch up on those, the summer of 2003 was the best summer of my life, the summer of 2004 was kinda lame was kinda lame but could have been worse. It could have, for example, been this summer. This summer was the lamest summer I can remember.
I don't think I've met a single new person this summer, aside from the people at work, and I haven't seen any of them outside of work.
Highlights of this summer included hanging out with Nidia a bunch until she got a new boyfriend from the internet, hanging out with Alex(andra) Hughes a bunch, and having a new pet exchange student from France around. By far the highlight of this summer was having Kristy around for a week and going to Vegas with her.
And now, lets recap what the last week or so was like the previous two summers (since I haven't done the year-ago-todays for that time anyway)
Two Years Ago on Emosnail
03-09-11: Echidna Hype - yeah once again I'm hyping the Chosen Echidna. And don't think you've heard the last of it. The Echidna is forever.
03-09-12: Echidna Are Forever - I told you so. I believe thats the last time the Echidna went out. In unrelated news, I know the dates are in an unusual order here, but listing from biggest time period to smallest (yr/mo/dy) makes a lot more sense than anything else.
03-09-14: Emosnail Will Go On - computer fried (as usual) I continue livejournalizing via pen & paper, and write possibly the most controvercial entry. Apparently I called a beloved diedrichs regular "some washed-up 40-yr old lady." Oops. The Emosnail regrets the error. Also, I punch Mike the Horrible Human in the face. God does he deserve it.
03-09-15: Calling MtHH's Bluff - Despite vowing vengeance on me, MtHH backs down and apologizes after I ignore his threats.
03-09-17: The Weakerthans Show - and hanging out with Nidia.
03-09-19: The Bitter End - Summer ends with a The List show down here in Fullerton, & MtHH's people making me feel unwelcome at Diedrichs.
03-09-21: Return to Davis - caravaning up with The List. Sortof. And the usual suprise of seeing how the apartment looks after various summer adventures without me around.
03-09-22: New Character Assignments - Meet the cast of the all new season of Emosnail, Davis. I think that was before Courtney "Courtbutt" Gertler was declared an official Enemy of Humanity. Also, myths, legends, & outright lies about Davis.
03-09-24: Computer Labbin - catching up on livejournal via the computer lab on campus back at Davis.
03-09-25: First (of many) Party At Sloshas - me and my good friend Kristy Heidenberger party it up at her friend Sashie's. Kristy gets her ass kicked by tequila & has yet to fully recover I think. -- Also for some reason Kristy's birthday party of 09-24 is under this cut. We met her friend Corcat's boyfriend "Tucker the Fucker," & ate at Sophia's. I'd like to revise what I said: free refills on Thai iced tea CAN be beat, when the place serves the worst thai food ever.
03-09-26: First Day of School - And its exciting times when you are taking classes with titles like "Nuclear Weapons & Controls" & "War." Also I note that with this entry I've finally caught up with everything in my livejournal. Similarly that entry brings me up to today in the Two Years Ago Today series.
Tomorrow, that same period in 2004?
Tomorrow I leave for Davis.
