Friday Supreme
Feb. 1st, 2003 12:25 pmMmm sounds like a burrito.
polishing my shoes...
Okay so here was my plans for the day:
10:00-10:50 - Russian class
11:00-13:00 - Work
13:10-14:00 - MicroEcon midterm
14:00-15:00 - Work (dish shift!)
15:00-16:00 - unscheduled hour!!
16:00-17:00 - Supreme Court Prehearing Conference
17:00- ? - Supreme Court Hearing
17:30-19:00 - "Punk Rock Appreciation" class at the Experimental College
20:00- ? - show at keebler hall.
only I didn't make it to Russian class, and the Supreme Court hearing overran the experimental college class. I ended up being too tired and bleh-hurg to find the parties tonight. d=
` But now the Supreme Court case, lets talk about THAT shall we? Where to start. Before the thing had gone on for more than ten minutes, the Chief Justice and her goons had flagrantly violated ASUCD Constitution Article 7, Section 6; and Judicial Code 6, Section 601; Judicial Code 7, section 701; and Judicial Code 8, Section 801 and 803.
` During the Prehearing Conference the three new justices were voted to be removed from the hearing by a motion from the chief justice, despite the fact that Justice Code 8, Section 803 clearly specifies that a motion to remove justices can ONLY come from "the Plaintiff(s) or Apellant(s) and/or Defendant(s) or Respondent(s)," and both Costitutional Article 7, Section 6 and Justice Code 7, Section 701 clearly state that the reason for removal of justices is to be that they "cannot render an impartial and unbiased opinion." Justice Code(JC) 8, S 803 more clearly innumerates three conditions under which a justice's impartiality may be called into question and the procedure for doing so, a procedure which was completely ignored. And this whole thing SHOULD have been public record, as JC 8, S 801 declares, but it was not. So um.. write to your senator and demand the removal of Chief (in)Justice Jade Turner.
` Ran into Tamara and Sarah today in the CoHo during my hour of free time while I was sitting with Vanessa. Tamara and Sarah proceeded to insult my accent and I remain displeased in their general direction.
` Learned from Jackson Pritt's livejournal that the space shuttle Columbia had broken apart during reentry...
