Feeding Felippe

   Today as I approached the Santa Ana Central Courthouse I saw a police car with markings I didn't recognize as any of the local cities. It was blue and white and just had "POLICE" written on the side without a city name, as if it was some brand x cereal or something. Closer inspection revealed it said "Homeland Security -- Federal [somethingsomething...]" on the side. While its not suprising that the HomeSec Dept has vehicles, I thought it was rather novel that they have vehicles marked "police."


   In other news, Sunday evening I accidently ran barefoot through a blackberry bramble while pursuing our cat Pele who was pursuing the possum (whom we've named Felippe), who was trying to make off with an enchilada we'd fed him. I've subsequently had a thorn in my foot until today )= Although Pele evaded me at the time, she was later lured into the house and Felippe was able to finish the enchiladas in peace.
   On Monday I had to rescue two lizards from Pele.


   Kristy was visiting this weekend. Unfortunately she became quite ill. )=

   Aaron Aviv was visiting on leave for the weekend as well. I hung out with him and his friends on Thursday night and Kristy, Marybelle and I also hung out with Aaron & his friends on Saturday.

It was Filippo (Italian), not Felippe (French?). I suppose both are suitable, though I am definitely partial to the Italian version. Now that you have christened him in LJland, however, I'm afraid Felippe will probably stick! Which is very very unfortunate.
