It has occured to me, that IF Hillary Clinton were to be elected President, that would mean that for 24 years the Presidency will have had been held by two immediate families.

Is this not rather alarming? And why haven't I heard the media point this out?

I was thinking the same thing. Even if she was my top choice for president, it is an exceedingly unpalatable precedent.

I imagine this is actually pretty common in politics. Surely there are some long-lasting "dynasties" at lower levels--the senate, for example?

I don't particularly care that Mrs. Clinton happens to be the wife of a previous president. One wonders whether she'd attract the attention she does were she not, but she's still an accomplished politician in her own right. Didn't Bill and Hillary meet through their involvement in politics?

In any case, I'm not about to quibble about her family name when she may get us out of this Republican cesspool.

The point is also often made that, while it would be nice to start having women presidents about half the time, it bodes poorly to have the first one be the wife of an ex-president.

But we have to start somewhere.
