Discussion of the Bailout Plan seems to be dominated by debate about whether or not it is "fair."

Either the Bailout is necessary and the economy will tank if it doesn't happen, or it is unnecessary and imprudent.

I don't know the answer to that question, and it appears there isn't even a consensus among experts. Not being an expert and an expert opinion not being available, I'm not about to actually form an opinion.

But what I do know is that whether or not its fair is not relevant. If it is true that it is necessary for the economy, it may well be unfair but tough cookies. To me the argument it should not even be considered because its "unfair" is like the left hand not putting a bandage on the right hand out of spite.

(My boss here who finally left for the day moments ago is a fervent supporter of "no way in hell its not fair!!")

In other news, I am so looking forward to the Vice Presidential debate. I don't think I've ever looked forward to a debate so much.
