Hello from Portland! I suppose I'm overdue for a report:

Saturday (the 11th) I arrived in Seattle. Hung out with my friend Janelle and her boyfriend (Brian) until Monday. Brian went back home to Portland on Monday. Janelle and I then went on the underground tour in Seattle (which was awesome), and saw some other local sights.
Thursday we came down here to Portland. Janelle's staying at her boyfriend's place, so I crashed at a hostel last night (was able to finagle some floor space from [livejournal.com profile] xaositecte Thurs night). Today I'm on my own to explore the town on foot. I need to get back to Seattle because my flight leaves from there at 7am tomorrow morning. Presently don't have a plan, will probably greyhound it. So yeah, right now I'm doing Portland by the seat of my pants.

Those statues are totally excellent, aren't they? And all over.

'Waiting For The Interurban' is still my favorite.

What the hell was that passive-aggressive sh*t about? Dumping an out-of-town GUEST (you) because you couldn't read her mind? That's low class.

Glad you had a good time in spite of that.

Portland is an awesome town. My sisters live there. Wish I had more time to spend there exploring. When I go, it's just for family stuff, and we haven't been able to sight see as much.

Sorry the situation turned out so weird. Kinda rude on their part!

Thanks for reading my entry too. P.

I can't believe your host just booted you out without making any attempt to find you another place to stay. How rude.

Still, I'm glad you got to see nice places and eat a maple bacon donught. I'm full of envy!

Boo to bad hosts...

What a crummy situation you were in. It's better that you managed to stay where you did after she kicked you out than to have stayed with her at all. You've got your pride to answer to and it's saying that you're not a doormat. To hell with bad hosts.

Man oh man, you know I would be pissed if someone asked me to leave when I had no place to go. It's just not a nice thing to do, even worse to a friend. Hopefully, someone will make it up to you. You were fortunate to have contacts just in case something like this happened. Hopefully, it never happens again.
