Holiday Party

I forgot my company holiday party was yesterday. Despite people mentioning holiday parties all weekend I somehow managed not to remember that it was Sunday (it helped that I think the only time I'd ever been told the date was when I casually asked the previous monday). It wasn't until I got out of the shower at 7:15pm that I realized I had missed calls and texts of "where are you" that I was like OH MY GOD!!
When there's only six people at your workplace, you will be missed.
As quickly as I could I threw some clothes on and got myself down to Laguna Beach (about half an hour away).
Dave had aranged $80 a person dinner for us at the White House in LB, and I'd ALREADY EATEN! )=
Anyway, they were still on the first course when I got there (lobster bisque), so that was good. Second course was spinache & brie salad. Followed by some kind of sushie (ahi ahi?), I tasted a bit of it and then distributed the rest of mine to everyone else. Allegedly it was delicious. Finally we had steak (some kind of expensive cut no doubt) which was delicious, and lobster. I got halfway through my steak before reaching terminal fullness (definitely took the rest of the plate home in a to-go box).
Around the time I was slowing to a stop on eating, the girls at the next table over randomly bought me a shot of tequila. Silly. (=
Another highlight of the evening was when in the middle of dinner Jeremy informed everyone "hey I got a score of 260,000 on canyon defence!!" "Bullshit!!" declared Bob, or Ryan, or both. "You know, I THOUGHT you'd say that!..." says Jeremy, taking out his cameraphone with a sly grin, and showing everyone a picture.
This morning I was awoken by a text from Jeremy saying "Don't come into work unless it stops raining, call first." And lo, it was indeed pouring outside. Called Dave around nine and he said just not to come in today (can't work on bees in the rain). All this while snug in bed! (=
We've got christmas tree (finally) and I've been wearing a santa hat all day (hey its warm!), so I think its officially christmastime!
In unrelated news, I think this ad is actually pretty funny: The Doghouse
Looks like I'll be marauding Nor Central Cal (anywhere from San Jose to Davis to Santa Rosa) the week of New Years. Have plans 30th-5th but 27-30th is still open, so if you live up there and want to do something awesome drop me a line!
