A Stinging Sensation

Man, I HATE being stung in the nose. I'd literally rather be stung 30 times in the arms than take one in the nostril.

If a bee stings me anywhere else I just casually brush out the stinger without really reacting any other way. If a bee stings me in the nose I'm likely to jump up, grabbing wildly at my nose to get the stinger out as fast as humanly possible, possibly while shouting in anguish. I will then walk around in bewildered circles for a few minutes until my nose stops running and my eyes clear of tears.

Today I got stung THREE TIMES in the nose!! Now my nose and upper lip are so swollen, I look like an ape. If I got just one sting in the nose every time I worked the bees I wouldn't do it. It fucking sucks. Fortunately, these were only the 2nd-4th stings in the nose I've gotten this year

ouchie!! i hope ur nose getz better soon!! man, ive never been stung but im so afraid i run away as soon as i see any kind of wasp or bee!!

Haha yeah it takes awhile to get used to it. I remember when I first started working for my boss if a bee got in my hair I'd still bat at it wildly to try to get it out, until he yelled at me. haha. He told me not to do anything about it. It was quite the exercise in self-restraint, having a bee in your hair but completely ignoring it.

..but now I really do not mind if a bee is in my hair because they just get stuck there and rarely succeed in stinging through the hair. Either they get tired of it and fly away, or if they seem very determined than I'll just give them one decisive slap and it kills them immediately.

Yeah most people are and it took me a pretty long time to accept that getting stung a few times wasn't so bad. Until then I'd still put on the full suit and get kinda freaked out if one got in my veil or something.
