I thought I'd do something the lovely [livejournal.com profile] boxsofrain did a bit ago, and declare a Friendzy (Friending frenzy!). Actually I'm not sure she intended for it to work out quite like this but it did: (1) answer the following questions in a comment; (2) As Boxes says, "Also to make this more fun, feel free to read other peoples comments and reply to them with something nice about them. ... Make friends, add each other, mingle, just please be nice." (3) extra points if you mention the Friendzy in your own LJ and send people over to the party! (=

That is awesome about the McDonalds being on an ancient burial ground. Also Ocelots are pretty cool. I once worked with a filthy rich girl who would casually consider buying things like ocelots for the novelty of it. I hated her for being so rich and lame. d= She was on one of those stupid reality shows.

How came you here?

And welcome and hi! (=

Dear sweet lord, run far, far away if you ever see them. I say this as a person who loves vampires and escapist fantasy.

Seriously. This stuff is so bad.

Neighborhood stories are great! San Francisco must be full of them.

And you're not the only one who doesn't know how to post pictures in comments. Maybe someone in the know will take pity on us and explain the process.

Sf is great for that stuff. I bore people all the time with various tids and bits of info.

And yes! if someone wants to take pity on us and demonstrate how to get pictures in comments I would be enternally grateful. I also cannot use and lj users name in a comment. I can do it in a post, but it doesn't link in a comment.

Could it be that I don't PAY for this LJ? Hmmmm.....

Isn't that great about the McDonald's? This city seems to be full of places like that.

[livejournal.com profile] agirlnamedluna's journal entry on your journal entry that mentioned friending frenzy (http://agirlnamedluna.livejournal.com/523333.html) is what led me here.

You listed "capybara" on your own odd-pet wish list. One of my South American buds says they taste like chicken. :-P

LJ user names I've managed to figure out. (And I'm like you -- I'm not a paying user.)

You type a "<", then "lj user=", then the user name or community name enclosed in double quotes, then a ">".
Like this:

< + lj user= + "magsmom" + >

Here it is without the plus signs and extra spaces:

[livejournal.com profile] magsmom

[Error: Irreparable invalid markup ('<ljuser="stiobhan">') in entry. Owner must fix manually. Raw contents below.]

<ljuser="stiobhan"> thanks for the instruction, but it still doesn't seem to want to work. when I do it in a post, I have to hit the icom at the top. Perhaps its my browser.
But for all this effort, I'm going to friend you. Ok, I was going to anyway, but we all new "rewards"
I love the user name, you must have an Irish background.

It looks like you need to put a space between "lj" and "user".

(Apologies -- I see how my instructions were unclear. I wrote "extra spaces" when I should have written "spaces before and after the plus signs.")

Thanks for friending me! (And yes, lots of Irish in my background.)

Ahyes I've heard they have capybara farms down there. Actually reading that tehy were kept on farms is what first tipped me off that "if they can be kept on FARMS they could surely be kept as PETS!!"

Haha bees are fun. Its not too hard to get started with one hive if you have a place to put them. Less maintenance needed than dogs and cats thats for sure!
