LJ Idol Polls
Feb. 21st, 2009 01:21 pm Hello all from Santa Rosa (
gratefuladdict's place). Anyway, its LJ Idol polling time. As usual I recommend reading and voting. Additionally, since I'm out travelling I unfortunately might not be able to read them all, so please recommend to me the good ones! :D
[Poll #1352848]
[Poll #1352849]
Posting asking for votes repeatedly. Seriously people. Does this have to become a spamfest? :*

Date: 2009-02-21 10:02 pm (UTC)My personal feeling is asking for votes once is a bit desperate and dirty play. Multiple times is definitely lame.
Lamest of all, going out, after asking for votes once or multiple times, and then bitching and blaming it on conspiracy or people grouping together or friend list size.
Seriously, nobody has gone out in a place they didn't really belong to go out based on their writing. Amazing that so many unpublished people posting shit for free on the internet all think they are James Fucking Frey.

It helps me keep some semblance of self respect.

Date: 2009-02-21 10:16 pm (UTC)C'mon...asking for votes, linking to the poll, posting to the poll...it's all the same and basically leads to the requester getting a handful of people to drop in, read nothing, and vote.
And yet, some people do this and feel proud about it afterward when they do well. And bitch about other people doing the exact same thing. After all, their own vote request is only to help balance out all the evil and unfairness in the world.

Date: 2009-02-21 10:21 pm (UTC)I do it simply because if I don't inform my friends list, they bug me about it - especially my siblings and IRL friends who don't blog so much.
as far as people posting multiple times asking for votes, it has happened every single week this season and last season of the people on my flist. I just glide by it because I've already voted at this point and someone asking me to vote for them won't influence my decision.

Date: 2009-02-21 10:24 pm (UTC)but who else? who else is begging for votes multiple times? is it just a tactic by emo to pretend that it's not him and he didn't do it in a filtered post last night?

Date: 2009-02-21 10:32 pm (UTC)It basically comes down to this: It's impossible to know who is "begging" for votes multiple times because most of them (from what I can tell) are doing it in public.
