Sometime around four in the afternoon on March 16th I heard the entire building rumble. I jumped up and exclaimed "Earthquake!" but it was over almost as soon as it started.
I quickly got on the geological survey website to see how big and how close it had been. Only I couldn't find anything. There's no way the site, which is automatically updated by seismometers, would miss an earthquake. I began to think I was just trippin. Or maybe it had been a really large truck rolling past...

But then I came across this. O_o

Picture of the Day

I uploaded nine new pictures today.

How crazy for that to be happening and nobody seems to know why! We have a lot of earthquakes here in Alaska so that would have been my assumption too. Let us know if they figure it out.

I remember one of those "earthquakes" when we lived on Arion way... certainly felt like an earthquake but was not reported. Back then there were always huge aircraft flying over, going to/from MCAS El Toro.

If I were still at the earthquake lab, I could tell you .... we have sophisticated listening devices.

Thanks! (=

I'm also excited by what it actually shows. All winter there hadn't been much flowering in the area and our bees were literally starving, so to see so many flowers blooming really really makes me excited. (=
