Wow that was a nightmare trying to take a picture of the writing and getting the contrast all correct and such. I think I may also have determined the right side of my camera lense is inherently blurry. I couldn't get the first paragraph all in focus until I took a picture of it holding the camera upside down and stitched the two right sides of the image together. Anyway I've wanted to do a handwritten entry for awhile... and I don't tihnk I'm going to do it again for awhile ... unless I gain access to this thing called a "scanner."

(and yes that begins "dear commentariat")

You do write like a weirdo, but I <3 you anyway.

I think because I was concentrating on writing legibly I didn't even write AS up and down as I normally do. (:

That writing is amazing, and so neat and consistant (were you concentrating on doing that?) I know mine tends to change completely once I get going, because I get into what I'm writing and it gets really scribbly.

Also, WOO, I totally hold my pen resting on my ring finger too! (*is a dork to find that entertaining*), the normal way's like on the tip of the fingers or something isn't it? idk. My (and apparently your) way is much more comfortable.

Nope that's pretty much what my writing looks like. And when I'm writing sloppily, like just quick notes to self, the upstrokes actually get LONGER. (:

Teachers tried so hard to make me write the "normal way" in kindergarten and first grade. ):!

That's really wicked! Unique writing is fun :D

That sucks! I never really had anybody try and make me hold a pen properly, mwah ha ha

My writing is not photo-op material...if you can READ it, **I** did not sign it!!!

I'm pretty sure they rest it on their index finger. I'm gonna have to spy on some normies to back this up ;D

I think we put it between index and middle fingers, but then I might not be normal either.

I just realized I've been mispeaking -- I've been saying index finger but meaning middle finger. d:

Interesting handwriting and legible too. What they mean by left handed writing is that you break up the letters in longer words. Since we "push" rather than "pull" the pen, we have to move our hands forward more often. I'd post a copy of my chicken scratches but it's pretty bad.

I rest my writing utensil on my ring finger too! I never realized that wasn't normal.

I LOVE your handwriting by the way.

I've been told I write like a left handed person... supposedly it’s because I hold the pen kind of like I’m making a fist around it and rest it on my ring finger. This once caused a man at my work to ask me what side of my brain I think with... like I friggen knew. I told him I didn't.

Side of brain

Didn't know, or didn't think? ;)

I can just picture it "I can feel myself thinking on the left right now!"

Quite a few people have commented that they also rest their pen on their ring finger .. but I've definitely been told all my life it isn't normal. I wonder if there's some kind of corrolation between doing that and tending to become a blogger or something (: Or maybe it's just that all the normies don't think to comment

Didn't think... like at all. From then on he would eyeball me like I was going to do something crazy. I'm pretty sure he was some kind of psychologist or something and the way I held my pencil was some sort of body language for serial killer or something...

My brother is legitimately left handed as well as much of my extended family. I don't know if that has anything to do with it. I can write pretty clear if I hold a pencil the "normal way" but that's just not comfortable. OOOOO... and I have a huge dent in my ring finger where the pencil rests- you got that too?

Haha that's funny. Though you'd think a psychologist would be smarter than to ask what side of the brain you think with.

Also I was going to try writing a sentence with my left hand but decided not to because it might be all over the page and make a mess out of the rest :D

I used to have a big callus on my finger but not anymore, guess I haven't done much handwriting lately d:

I bear my pen on my ring finger too! There's a bump on said finger because of it.
