Monday was my day off... so I spent the whole thing being useless.. and then I didn't intend to go out but it came up in conversation with Jimmy "Knut" McTeigue that he also loved steel reserve.. so I gave in to the temptation to drive out to RSM and drink some steels with him. Now RSM is the freakin middle of nowhere, this little colony of extremely religious and/or rich people off in the corner of the world which appears to border Mission Viejo on one side and absolutely nothing on all others. Its like.. at least twenty minutes from the nearest freeway.. though there is a tollway running through it that connects the rich people to where they need to go.
The gate was told to expect a "Nigel" of course. I actually spent like a few hours talking to Jim and one of his friends.. it used to be that we couldn't hang out cause his friends would just smoke out and I'd get bored/awkward being the only nonstoner and leave... but he doesn't appear to do that anymore, has becomae hardcore debate team at Saddleback, and is contemplating law school. What a change. His friend too, and his friend really suprised me because I took him as just another bro at first but we got talking about bands and his knowledge of punk bands was extremely commendable.
Anyway, I finally dispersed from there and caught up with Anna since she lives in RSM as well.. though she's not absolutely filthy rich like Jimmy is. Anna lives in an apt and her room is actually smaller than MY 10x10 cell. So I caught the end of this extremely silly 80s movie called "the warriors" or something... Don't get me started on it.. way silly.
Worked Tuesday morning. That evening I went down to Diedrichs again. Only to discover that in the like two days I hadn't been there, (A) nearly everyone had been banned from diedrichs and (B) Kyle totally got a girlfriend.. some total punk girl they'd met at the beach the day before apparently.
I decided to occupy myself by making my "steel reserve" shirt. I think three of the other guys already have made such shirts.. when they first learned of my shared love for steel reserve they welcomed me enthusiasticaly into their "diedrichs steel reserve crew," and had been encouraging me to make a shirt of my own. So it was rather to my suprise to find they gave me nothing but shit about it. Maybe I shouldn't have made it in front of them.. on any account because mine wasn't exactly the same as theirs it apparently was utterly inferior in their opinion.. and god forbid when I make a shirt I plan it out first in pencil so it comes out straight. While I was half finished.. or I guess two thirds finished, they were like "what the fuck is that? hey mike look at his 2/3rds of a shirt?!" Yea bite me. So everyone was pissing me off and I just wanted to go home.. but Matt Christie convinced me to drive him and his friend to a location a short distance away first so I consented.... but since I was tired and pissed off I wasn't paying attention.... so I ended up getting pulled over for the first time in my life. Going 55 in a 40 zone apparently. Psha on that. They totally patted the three of us down and completely stripsearched the inside of the car but ended up letting us go without a ticket or anything. Matt Christy's completely honest explanation as to why he had toothpaste and things in his pockets: "oh I just got out of jail." Yea we're reputable people.
During that Anna called me seeing if I wanted to chill, and chilling with people who don't friggen piss me off sounded good, so I went over there and we watched this speilberg movie Empire of the Sun which was slow and unashamedly "sentimental" and cutsey and I just wanted to like beat spielberg or the movie's characters for their lameness in many parts but kept watching out of morbid curiosity or something... I dunno... I was kinda in the mood for something slow.. like I said, I just needed to chill.
Today I THOUGHT I was supposed to work 1-8 but apparently I was not. I ended up just playing in the park with Hannah for half the day.

I don't care what they say I think my Steel Reserve shirt rocks. I wrote 211 on the back in the same style as it does on 211 itself, which I have a feeling those other fockers didn't.
I had another random comment I swear.

I just need a name or something.. or a logo... /= or something. Psha. I think I want to make another one for wild rivers that says "I <3 the break room!!" because our break room is freakin disgusting and prolly a health hazard.. no one cleans it.. freakin flies...!! Date: 2003-08-16 06:45 am (UTC)Bubble letters are the bane of my existasnce (maybe just cause I can't do them >_> BUT STILL >_> EEEVIIIL)
Re: shirts, mainly.
Date: 2003-08-16 06:52 am (UTC)when I have the world in my tyrannical grip I definitely intend to lead people to think that its "okay" to do things like bubble letters so I can root them out and execute them. Cause if they otherwise WOULD be doing such travesties but pretend not to just for myy sake that would be just wrong. Definitely the same goes with rap and hip-hop.. must root them all out and eliminate every last one. Well.. except for Eminem actually, he's punk rock.
::resists urge to go on the Why Eminem Is Punk Rock rant::
Re: shirts, mainly.
Date: 2003-08-16 07:30 am (UTC)Oh of course, they must realize that they have the freedom to DO these things. Then, once you find THEM ALL....... :D
LOL....okay okay, rant away... does he have messages about equality and death to capitalism?
Re: shirts, mainly.
Date: 2003-08-16 08:34 am (UTC)So most (read: all) rappers rap about how they are the bomb-diggity.. gods gift to women, drivin around in their gold plated cars, and generally the shiznaz.
Punks sing about how people suck, life sucks, the government sucks, uh things suck... how their relationships don't work out... in general the exact opposite of what rappers rap about.
Eminem raps about how life sucks and dumb people suck and ... yea. punk stuff. And on top of that he is actually a bit witty.
