Kris' Livejournal Will Go On!
Sep. 14th, 2003 11:06 pm Lacking computer, my journaling has moved to pen and paper. The following is the transcript of what I have written from the other day.
Thursday, September 11th - 1152 hours - I finished C.D. Payne's Revolting Youth yesterday. It took me one day, three sittings (hey I gotta eat!). And speaking of eating, I had mum's delicious rendering of pork fusilli for all three meals yesterday; mmmm soo good.
This morning mother unearthed a thick black mint-condition book; DESPITE EVERYTHING: A Cometbus Omnibus. Its a compendium of the first 43 issues of the Cometbus zine. I've previously only been able to get my hands on issues 46 & 47, so I'm rather stoked about this. Guess what I'll be doing all day?
1225 hours - Anna (LeLoup) just called. "Mike asked me what we were doing today, and I said 'umm actually Kris called me the other day and wanted to hang out' and then he looked at me like his life was over. Then I called you and he walked away." What can I say, people named Mike don't seem to like me.
2050 hours - "Its not that I hate him, I just don't want to talk about him" -Further Mike explanation regarding me. Anna and I saw American Wedding - I definitely think it was a sequal too many. Anna's parents hate me as well I believe. At least Im good friends with a lot of her friends. Her dad met me once actually but I was introduced as the cousin of her friend Amy, so they have no idea I am that same person they once met.
Returning from hanging out with Anna, I stopped by Diedrichs to get money from the ATM at the bank next door. During the very short time I was there, Becka offered me a sandwich she had made and I absconded with THHS's (Tom the Horrible Human's Stooge) abandoned coffee. While eating this spontanious meal, I was subjected to the ridiculously wanna-be-intellectual conversation behind me between BtGP (Brandon the Gay Poser) an dsome washed up 40 yr old lady. BtGP was reading questions from some book of questions. BtGP - "If you could sleep with [both of] any celebrity couple, who would it be?" Someone completely different - "Johnny Depp and Winona Rider" BtGP - "mmm... Winona Rider." Yea I thought you were supposed to be gay, focker.
BtGP - "If you could pass one environmental law what would it be?" The Lady - "or everyone to love others as they love themselves." At this point I think Chris Hubert asked if I was feeling okay because the idiocy behind me had given me a massive grimace. Also: BtGP - "If you could grow the perfect specimen of any garden flower, which would it be?"... BtGP - "Get this: it would be a rose, right, but in the center of the flower would be a venus fly trap, AND the sap would cure aids!" The Lady - "and if you ate it you'd get totally high!!" God I hate lame people.
Fascism = Bad
Like I said I'm very suspicious of anyone so pompous as to presume not to "judge" people. I think its more important to make sure that you are open to other people's judgements and opinions, and open to changing your opinion of people as you get to know them better. Believing that your opinion is the only valid opinion and everyone else is dead wrong and should be reviled is something I consider exponentially worse than "judging someone." Don't be fascist, recognize that other people may have other opinions than you, and that doesn't make them scum.

Date: 2003-09-24 07:45 pm (UTC)yes, you do have an opinion. A shitty one, but yours nonetheless. But I'm not going to sit back and let people talk shit on my friends without saying anything...that might be the way you treat your friends, but that doesn't fly with me.
