Okay more pictures from the roadtrip across Tanzania. I swear the regular narrative will continue eventually.

This was a dancing troupe that was dancing to welcome us to one of the bee sites we visited on the official three day "technical excursion" after the conference. We had a similar welcome at one other site but unfortunately that was after sunset and no good pictures.

And I took a video!

Is that fabric printed with the pattern?

I'm assuming it's all made from the same really large bolt of fabric? I've actually wondered how all the super colorful African fabric is made. You go into a village market and everyone has a different vibrant pattern, so its clear its not just like some local maker churning out the same thing over and over again.

Yeah I love the vibrant colors of outfits in Africa. I think its much nicer than looking around at the mall here in the US ;D

The traditional dancing in Ethiopia was also extremely cool:

Great photos, thanks for sharing.

Beautiful colours and costumes, though I did find the joggers (gym shoes) somewhat jarring. You would have thought that the guy (front right video) would have worn a more tradition sort of footware or been barefoot.

Its funny isn't it? And did you notice his hat??? I kinda regretted his hat, as cute as it is I found IT kinda jarring. But yeah the random bits of "modern" clothing, that is Africa today. I found in Guinea there were a lot of people wearing t-shirts that people had no doubt given to good will. But what's hilarious is it made them all look like hipsters!! Wearing thrift store shirts from random things, from christian churches (they're all muslim in Guinea!) to some 4H club cow show, to, my personal favorite, a guy wearing an "RHS Cheer" jacket.
