Sunday, September 21st
11:59 - Drove up to Davis yesterday. Most of The List caravaned up in the morning, but Eric and I opted for the evening because we're lazy, and more importantly, it is SO much nicer and cooler in the evening.
We departed around 16:00 (two hours after our intended departure time), lost eachother in the mad LA traffic, met up again about 50 miles further north. Got gas in Gorman, and In-N-Out in Kettleman City... then lost eachother again in the darkness. Never saw him again that day. Convoying without a means of communication is silly.
Arrived in Davis not knowing what to expect the apartment to look like. Turns out my room totally looks like a disaster. In my four minutes of packing to head home last June I had tossed everything around looking for the stuff I wanted to take. Then my friend Garian and her roommate Tanner stayed in my room for two weeks and shleffed EVERYTHING onto my desk. Now I have an extremely intimidating pile on my desk. But Adrian's room may look worse. It looks like someone just dumped a dumptruck load of their excess Stuff into the room. Apparently on Sept 1st Adrian and Gil came to move in and found Steve sound asleep with all his stuff still there. It took him until the 19th to finally remove it...
Today is Fish's birthday. I'm going to cell her now.
Monday, September 22nd - The New Character Arrangements
13:23 - Haven't gotten a chance to work on the computer yet; been too busy trying to clear space to work on it on my desk.
Hung out yesterday with Angie, Russ, Christie, Renry and Kristy. It was just like old times. Of Kristy, Christie, Angie and Courtney, all roommates last year in "the suite that was always exciting," Kristy and Angie still live together (along with this girl Terra who seems pretty cool, andthis other girl we're not too sure about), Angie's boyfriend Russ lives upstairs from them now, and Christie and Courtney live together in "The Colleges" (a housing complex), along with everyone's friend Bree. (Most of these people appear in the photos here)
Kristy's new complex is right next to (and her windows look directly into) a large abandoned warehouse. The girls all think its pretty scary. The guys all think its very cool. Like: "what should we do tonight?" me-"explore the warehouse!" An hour later: Kristy - "Wednesday we go for Thai food, and on saturday we party!" Renry - "and then we explore the warehouse!!"
Anyway, the six of us met up with Courtney, Bree, and Courtney's friend Rennie (NOT to be confused with Renry) and went to Murder Burger. Then we all got for-excellent "aqua fria"s from El Mariachi and wandered around down-town speculating as to why Murder Burger changed its name to Redrum Burger.
Eventually we all ended up watching Empire Records at Bree and Courtney's place in The Colleges. Courtney gave me a new chocker thing, like my old one but with smaller balls. I'm very pleased. Also regarding Courtney, due to some Weird Sorority Thing, she cannot be anywhere that remotely resembles any place where someone may have once thought about consuming alcohol for the duration of "dry week" this week. Some of us guys speculated that we could trap her in The Warehouse by positioning beer cans at all the exits.
Today I set about processing the huge pile of debris on my desk. Slowly things like my furry soviet hat (the ushanka) emerged from the escavation. I found an unopened birthday card from back in May with checks worth $121.21 in it. Finally I reached the bottem layer, and my computer speakers emerged like ancient megaliths, as well as my digital clock, still forlornly flashing, sideways in the corner.
And now, now I'm going to go swimming, then look into fixing the computer.
Wednesday - September 25th
24:16 - On Monday I went with Kristy to Sloshie's, where drizinking and revelry were planned. There a wine drinking party soon developed with a bunch of their neighbors (in the Le Salle complex) by the pool. Among them was this guy Tim. Tim - "Hey Kris, remember me?" "Uh... yea.. I helped you with your poli sci homework once right?" "Yeah, and we drove down to Los Angeles together," "oh yeah, that." I spent eight hours in a car with him and almost forgot.
Anyway, at midnight Sloshie and Kwisty started taking shots of tequila since it was then officially Kristy's birthday. I didn't drink because I was Kristy's driver, but then Kristy got hellof drizunk so I ended up spending the night on the floor.
Tuesday was Kristy's birthday, so we all went to the local Thai restaurant, Sofia's. I thought it wasn't as good as other Thai restaurants I've been to, but you can't beat free refills on the Thai iced tea. All 16 of us were put into a room where we sat on the floor and had to squirm to get under the bench/tables. Then Rus, an engineering major, moved the table so that he could get under it easier. Damn engineering majors.
Today I spent half an hour discovering there is NO parking within like three miles of UCD. Then I updated my lj from the computer lab... whole thing mysteriously disappeared and had to be typed over. School tomarrow. So of course right now its 2am and I'm drinking guinness.
Special thanks to Kristykristy for letting me update from her computer. (=

Myths and Legends of Davis
Here are some of the myths, legends and outright lies surrounding the name change:
(A) Kristy - After 9/11 they decided it was in bad taste and changed the name.
(B) Renry - A bunch of local parents got butthurt about it and made them change it.
(C) Russ - It got its name when someone was murdered with one of their burgers. But then it was discovered that the victim had ACTUALLY been bludgeoned to death with a subway sandwich so they had to chang the name.
(D) Me - The original owner sold the business to new management, but DIDN'T sell the name (that fucker) so the new management had to change the name.
