Well it's been four years since I used the "politics" tag (last post: George W Bush Noodz!) and I even already made a post today, and normally don't post about information that's general knowledge probably known to all of you, but I feel quite compelled to make at least a quick post because I've just been dying to discuss the latest events and all one of the humans I actually interacted with in real life today here didn't have an opinion.

So.. wow. I wake up and load the news on my phone as I always do and thought I read it wrong. Scarface-a-mucci canned already! Let us review. Last week he is appointed (who was his predecessor in that position? no one knows!) and fan favorite Spicy Salsa immediately resigned rather than work under him. Scarface then wasted no time lambasting everyone and acting more like Trump than Trump. Apparently his wife filed for divorce because she was so disgusted with his powergrab, AND he missed the birth of his son. Meanwhile he was shitting all over the one guy connecting this crazy White House and the Republican mainstream, Rience Probot (which is totally a goblin name if I ever heard one). Finally he gets his wish and the axe falls on Goblin-name ... only to be replaced by General Ned Kelly (Sorry that's an Australia joke, some other Kelly then) who within an hour throws Scarface-moochy out the provberbial window! (I say proverbial but I definitely picture in my mind the general literally picking up the guy bodily and throwing him screaming out of an upper window) This is just like some Greek tragedy where the protagonist through blind greed and hubris ruins his own life!!

As one of my friends commented, "at least he contributed something: now Brannon is indelibly linked to self-fellatio."

And also in dramatic political news, how about Sen McCain hurrying to the Capitol last week immediately after brain surgery, everyone thinking he was in such a hurry to help repeal Obamacare what with voting to bring the matter to a vote, and then casts the tie breaking vote to sink the repeal (credit duly given to the other two Republican senators who voted against it, but man the drama of the way McCain rushed back).

In conclusion, politics sure have been exciting lately. It's now bedtime here in Australia and I can't wait to wake up to find out what happens next! And I don't even need HBO for this!

Never a dull moment. Trump supporters are really having to do some mental gymnastics to maintain their beliefs.

And that's what blows my mind! Sure people who voted for him didn't know he was going to be this crazy and incompetent, but two or three people on my friends list who voted for him are to this day die hard defenders of his every move!! It's mind boggling!!

Eleven days, the man made it eleven days and he was escorted from the building! Hah!! I want to be sorry. I want to be sad. Our government is in chaos but somehow I'm not. Thanks for the summation.

Haha oh I didn't know he was escorted out of the building! Though I'd imagine he wasn't happy. Man I would have liked to see him later that afternoon he must have been sooooper depressed!

Living just outside DC, I always expect these days to look to the south and see a massive, dark cloud of smoke coming from the city these days. Either from the Senate blowing itself up due to the stress of it's own ineptitude, or to from the White House, as all the rage and fire in Trump's head finally gets too much and just breaks out. The nation is in chaos and it seems it can not stop tripping over itself to do anything sane.

Your commentary as great, and can not wait to read more of your journal :-)

I really couldn't believe what a story it was! And I'm living here in Australia where most people aren't following it and anyway I don't even talk to very many people in a day since I primarily work alone in the forest. So I was desperate to discuss it!

Well here, it such an odd feeling that something that should be shocking, is mostly considered "another day at the Trump White House". That is personally what is upsetting to me. I have seen far less political backlash on Trump, where in other nations, it would sink political parties. It is a very odd, and surreal time to live in America.

Yeah that's one weird thing about the US political system. In parliamentary systems what is essentially the congress appoints the leader and if he or she has a scandal she's out so fast. In the US, you're pretty much stuck with whoever they are for four years.

Yeah well, that is one of many issues the US government. There is always the issue with the editorial college. Personally I am feeling like the Republicans in Congress are seeing how much they can get from Trump before the toss him out with impeachment. So far I am not sure any of their agenda has gone through.

Yeah I've heard plenty of people say "oh he won't get0impeached as long as the Republicans are in power" but I think absolutely when they realize they can't get a thing accomplished with him in power they'll be all about ejecting him. Plus they have Pence waking in the wings... which is enticing for them and scary for the rest of us.

Yeah that I am sure if a "plus" for the Republicans, that Pence is there, and follows party lines at most points. I joked once that they whole WH would be guility of something, and thus Paul Ryan as Speaker of the House would be put in. We could have had a guy who drafted the Health Care Reform, signing it as President. That would be insane....
