Meh. Been too busy with finals to even update my livejournal lately. I know, shocking.

So Kristy and I on our one month anniversary finally accomplished our goal of eating at every known Thai restaurant in town, having visited Thai Nakorn on Monday. It was pretty good, possibly ranking second in terms of taste/portions (I think Thai Recipes may have tasted better, but is disqualified on grounds that the serving size left me totally unsatisfied). Ranking first in terms of taste and having entirely acceptable serving sizes is definitely Thai2k. Mmmm my mouth salivates just thinking about it. And finally Sophia's: I don't mean to sound hyperbolic here, but Sophia's provided my friends and I with what appeared to be the worst Thai food I've ever had at a restaurant. The free refills on Thai iced tea however are enough to make me consider returning someday. And in their defense, I personally would also refuse service to a serial non-tipper. One has a right not to tip, but that would certainly imply one was displeased to the point of never returning. I do not presume to know anything about the issue beyond that the frequent return of the serial-non-tipper is suspicious and weird. If you don't know what I'm talking about: its an issue that was in the paper awhile ago, but the search function on the Aggie isn't currently working so I can't link to it. Anyway, I just went really off topic. Thai2k in my opinion is the definitive Thai restaurant in town, but others may believe differently.

CLASSES
Signed up for classes for next quarter. I will be taking 16 units that happen to fall on only THREE (3!) days of the week. Yes, next quarter my weekend shall run from Friday evening until Tuesday night. I am currently signed up for IRE1 "Global Interdependance" with Prof Nincic, HIS111B (Greek world from Minoan-Mycenaean period to end of Hellenistic Age, Prof Spyridakis), ENL113A (Chaucer, taught by Worley) and RUS5.

MINUTIA
There are several mentionable things that came up in class towards the end of the quarter but went unreported.

Chalkboard Effect - Professor Gartner's theory as to how one gets dumber the closer they get to the chalkboard. Particularly in terms of spelling ability. Professor Gartner pointed out that it has nearly no effect once he's a few feet from the chalkboard, but very intense just a foot closer.
Floppiness Theory - After we got our term paper back a SEVERAL students were comparing the relative floppiness of their papers, a result of page thickness and quality of paper, with the theory (that they had purposefully employeed by selection of high quality paper) that the relative floppiness of their termpapers had an effect on the grades.
Quotes - "If I called half of you to do a phone poll, well half of you would say 'go explitive yourself!' & hang up, but..."
"I don't mean to denegrate those who have chosen that profession
[crack-whore], it can be lucrative if rather short." -(both) Professor Becker
