So for Christmas we all went up to my (maternal) grandparents ("Roger" and "Mum-mum") house in Camarillo, about two hours drive north.
I soon remembered why I always oppose going there; there is no escaping the company of my brothers while there. I survived however, passing the time while not eating by reading and sleeping.
It was rainy and stormy all day christmas, which was highly excellent. Power went out for several hours, but we managed to prepare christmas dinner without electricity. Then, while Mum-mum was saying grace, exactly as she said "and we thank you for the candle-light" the power came back on. Gives Godlite a whole new meaning.
Another highlight was when in discussion Dad said "Oh, Julie wrote about that in her livejournal" to which Mom responded "YOU'VE been reading my livejournal??" Classic.
Presents
First and foremost, I got a pair of black suspenders. I am very pleased with them. I also got a book of soviet WWII stories, very excellent. Also I got a waffle iron, and a tea pot. The end. Oh and REAL Swedish Fish - salty black licorice which taste utterly disgusting to the uninitiated.. I mean uhh they're great come by and try some mmmmmmmm. I love them.
